Today, on February 13, 2015, Bandai Namco Games filed in Europe via the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) a trademark application for "Soldiers' Soul" (not Soldier's Soul). Basis is as almost always CTM, though the goods and services do not seem to concern a game for console or PC, the wording makes me think this is more likely an arcade game:

No filing for this has been done in US at time of writing. Now, if this is not a new IP it perhaps could have something to do with SoulCalibur or the Souls series. I first came to think of the Soldier's Souls you can collect in Demon's Souls. Though the recent SoulCalibur: Lost Swords (PSN) and SoulCalibur: Unbreakable Soul (iOS) could perhaps pave way for another title, that one being for arcade. Soldiers' Soul is anyway not listed for Bandai Namco's showcased games at JAEPO 2015 (Feb. 13-14), but could of course premiere over the course of the expo.

Given the title's similarity to Demon's Souls, this has a good chance of being the next FROM game.

EDIT: Oh yeah, it's missing an 's'. That's actually a big deal. Might be something totally different.

9 is the standard classification for video games, so there is no implication this would be an arcade game or anything.

I dont think its another Souls game. I think they've been very busy with Bloodborne and Dark Souls 2 updates/SOTFS.

Its either new Soul Calibur or just a new thing.

Digimon Story: Soldiers' Souls? Nah.
Tales of Innocence R: Soldiers' Souls? Nah.
God Eater 2: Soldiers' Souls? Nah, they've already trademarked "Burst Rage"
Gundam Breaker: Soldiers' Soul? Nah.

Nothing for me.

Probably a Soul Calibur game. I didn't know until I just looked it up, but apparently people refer to the Soul Calibur series as the Soul series.

All these titles with 'Soul/Souls' in it are getting confusing. I know there's no trademark or anything, but some games are clearly using it to try and associate themselves with the Souls series. Titan Souls and Wayward Souls are pushing it in my opinion. They both literally sounds like they could be a sequel to Dark Souls.

Namco trademarking all uses of the word "Soul" coming soon. The title doesn't really fit either a Souls type game or Soul Calibur so I assume its something new.

Also you know what this has made me think that as well as having a terrible title a Soul Calibur Souls spin off game could actually work.

XBO exclusive FPS Souls game set in modern era and removing the baggage from the Souls games like inventory, plot, stats and allowing you to focus on the real fun...killing.

Don't forget checkpoints! The worst thing about the Souls games is having to redo everything when you die. I just want to be right where I left off when I die instead of doing the same thing over and over.
