HTC Vive shipment delays/issues

Is it normal for an order to show as "Pending Fulfillment" without any sign of the charge on your credit card? My order changed over to "Pending Fulfillment" about a week ago, and I've even talked to a support person who said all that was left was for it to ship, but I've seen no sign of any charges on my credit card.

My status was set to 'pending fulfillment' a week ago (Ordered Apr 2), and despite having my credit card set I was notified that it was declined. I went to the website, had them retry (as I had to alert my bank) and was immediately charged. No status change since.

Haven't gotten any decline notification, from HTC nor my bank, and in fact was informed by that support person that the charge had successfully gone through. It's all very messy. :|

The charge on my (Chase) credit card disappeared today after being pending for about a week. Is this normal? I contacted Chase to let the charge through when I received my pre-authorization email and everything seemed to be going fine. I received no notice from either Chase or HTC that there was an issue with this payment.

Edit: After some googling, I found some hopeful comments on Reddit, stating this is common for charges pending too long. Many people reported their Vives shipped, even after this happened.

Quick update on my delivery, as I figured, the outer box was smashed up like crazy with tons of small holes and one huge hole in the back thanks to the shitty driver throwing the box around, but the Vive box itself that was packaged within appears to be in good shape.

Everything is set up and working so it looks good on that front, in case anyone else receives their shipping box and freaks out when they see that the outside is badly damaged.

I ordered vive on March 20th. A week ago Digital River reserved/blocked (not actually charged) 970 euros on my Credit Card. I got excited but week later the "reservation" is still there and my order status is still "In process" (not even "Pending fulfilment"). Bummer, I wonder how long is it going to take. My shipment month is May, so they technically still have almost a whole month to ship it.

Dammit HTC! Got an email this morning from them, but it was just a follow up on a support chat I had last week. This waiting is killing me, especially since it seems so many orders that were made ahead of mine are being fulfilled. :|

Me too bud, me too. What's your order date? Mines march 13th

March 26th, US. Pacific Northwest if that makes a difference on when it ships out. My only consolation is it seems like the vast majority of orders ahead of mine that are shipping out are from the UK? So I guess the US is just fucked?

I just got my shipping notification. I ordered on 4/1, the charge appeared on 3/28, then dropped on 5/1. Its back along with shipment email. Good luck to all!!

Why the fuck are they fulfilling April orders before March orders? I know, Digital River. Just had to vent.
20th March order, not even "pending fulfillment", just "in process".

I ordered on 3/22, and my charge also dropped on 5/1. The charge hasn't reappeared with a shipment email yet, but based on your similar situation I'm hopeful it will be soon.

I'm pretty sure these are the same thing depending on what status page you're looking at. The htcvive.com order status will have "In Process" while the digital river lookup will have "Order Status: Pending Fulfillment".

You mean findmyorder.com? There is no visible status for me there.

I also checked here: https://store.digitalriver.com/stor...&Locale=en_IE&SiteID=htcemea&ThemeID=40354400 and it looks the same.

The second one. I haven't checked what the findmyorder status looks like. Odd if you don't see the fulfillment status there. I figured everybody was at that point (that hasn't shipped) with March orders. Were you Paypal? I'm card based, so I'm not sure if Paypal differs.

Then again, I have no idea why I'm expecting any consistency in this. I'm fairly certain I could use dice rolls to predict whether somebody gets an order shipped at this point and be just as accurate as using the order dates.

Credit Card. Can you a screenshot of the status?

whats the password for that digitalriver site anyway? i only have an account für the htcvive site and that does not work.

In your original order email there should be a password under the order number in the body of the email. If there isn't just click "Forgot my password".

Not while I'm at work since signing in with this shitty computer is a pain in the ass. No real need to though as it's just the same thing with an additional bullet point below the boxed shipment part with the pending fulfillment text.

Ha, preordered both my Rift and Vive on the day preorders opened, and after waiting and waiting and waiting, the stars align and both my Vive and my Rift are scheduled to arrive on the exact same day. To be fair though, my Vive was always a May estimated delivery, my Rift was estimated to arrive in March.

Which one gets set up first? =P

Don't trust the order status page. Mine still said 'Pending Fulfillment' even after i had already received it. Sign up for Fedex Delivery manager in advance, and they will tell you it's on the way faster than HTC will (by 2 days, for me).

That's disgusting. You must've been in the April group, right?

Nope, missed the cut-off by 1/2 or 3/4 of an hour. Tried ordering first thing in the morning, couldn't get it to work, then did it at work a couple hours later. Which is fine, except people who ordered much later are getting there's.

Not throwing a fit, it's just being handled really poorly. I'd probably be more upset if my ordered Oculus Rift was supposed to show up by now too, but seeing as those have been pushed back by months, it's not as big of a deal.

Man, that's still garbage. This situation doesn't look so bad in comparison to what Oculus preorderers are going through, but it's still pretty messy. Here's hoping this week brings us both of our Vives.

Got my confirmation. Ordered on March 8th, arriving Wednesday. While I have plenty of criticism of the order they're shipping things in, I can't complain about the overall speed given a "May" order arriving 4 days into the month isn't bad at all.

Finally someone who ordered before me Is getting there's. Congrats man. Hope I get that email tomorrow

After getting the Rift I decided to cancel my Vive order and put in the request last week. They sent an email asking if I was sure and I replied yes on Wednesday. I open my email this morning and notice that I got a shipping email from HTC and that my Vive will be here on Tuesday so I guess I'm getting both of them. I do want to try the Room mode and the motion controllers to see how much they add to the experience.

I have a March 30th order and status is pending fulfillment. My CC had a holding charge from digital river for a week but it disappeared today with no charge gone through so I'm hoping it just expired, once the holding charge is there it's definitely authorised isn't it?

Yeah, I'm hoping that more of the March orders get shipped out early this week. I'd love to think that my getting a confirmation means something to that extent, but I have no faith in it being the case. Everything has been too random with these shipments to extrapolate any meaning from mine.

Rather than hope they get the order of shipments right, however, it's probably more realistic to hope that the shipments in general are fast enough to clear the entire "processing" queue within the week. If they can get them out fast enough, then the differences in order date become less important.

Edit:
ooo.. The Rift would be faster I assume. I'm excited to try Elite Dangerous and I hear it looks a little better with the Rift. I'm just excited to finally try it all out. I have the poles set up already for the lighthouse boxes.
I was originally planning on VR paving the road back to another stint at Elite for me, but with the Elite-Vive issues, those plans are on hold. Not that I'm going to be lacking in things to do even without Elite. Between VR and non-VR stuff, I don't know how I'm going to fit everything into my free hours.
