Late to the ....yeah okay Sonic the Hedgehog thread of OH GOD NOOOOOO

Well I finally broke down and got Sonic the Hedgehog for ps3!
The game start with a load screen then comes a good music title then another load screen....
then a cg demo that's actually not that bad then the most embarrassing kidnapping scene ever all in ugly low poly 3D....
Then I'm somehow in a town seeking info...
What should I expect for?
By that I mean will it somehow get worse?

And I know my first thread should have been about FFVII's translation (no, not the english one) but I need a capture card for that, so....

expect, like, five minutes or content throughout that will make you think, 'hey, I remember why I liked Sonic AdvenNOW LOADING

Call back when you have to do a light dash across some rings over an instant death pit, while holding elise only to find it doesn't work 99% of the time.

You are the reason why Sega can get away with making bad Sonic games over and over again.
Buying the game 3 years after release?

I'm in that town, I know I could have lost 3 lives with how sonic moves...
I hit some stuff that's breakable and they literally flew into the sky!
The homing attack is suspiciously unlike Sonic Adventure and very much like the new Sonic 4...

Okay I'm at 5 mins of game and I have enough content to fill 3 pages of what's wrong already

Okay I just got the shoes stuff and I see that there's multiple ranks and all...
I can safely say that there's NO FUCKING WAY I'm doing that again, 4 loading screens before doing something else? :lol

I don't get it. You bought a shitty game (yes, you know it's shitty!) and actually asking opinions about it?

Children will still put their hands on a hot stove even after being told that it's going to burn them.

I have no doubts in my mind that Sonic 2006 is one of the worst things to have happened in the past decade.

I suppose this is as good as any place to ask what people's views on the Sonic Rivals PSP games were...I've always been intrigued as to whether they captured some of the magic from bygone eras for fans.

Any views?

You will be forced through a lot more cases of that before the game is over.

how many people here have actually played the game?

Broke down under what, exactly?
Temporary case of lack of good judgement. ;) All kidding aside it could just be morbid curiosity that somebody else's play-through online just can't quench. I feel the same way actually. XD

And actually I just got a gameover on the first high speed section, you're barely controlling anything and the last life I lost I didn't hit anything (there was a good 5m between me and the next tree)

This game is really fucked up.
I understand better what they meant by 'Shadow is not so bad'

btw who's idea was it to make Sonic so fucking slow in the first level?

And I'm not entirely stupid either I think bought a good platformer.

Mirror's Edge that is

Seriously just put it back in it's box, sell it today and watch Pokecapn's brilliant Let's Play Sonic 2006 if you want to know what the game is really like. Hell, watch this video first and THEN watch the LP so you get an idea of the sort of bullcrap that ends up driving them to the brink of insanity.

I just completed the game for a second time (360 and PS3) because of a dare by a friend, and trust me it gets so much worse that it ends up costing you your sanity. The game is a trainwreck of epic proportions, it'll make you end up hating everything and destroying anything that may be in the nearby vicinity, the LP allows you to laugh at how terrible it is without causing you any long term harm.

I had it as a christmas present (was only £25 at the time) and after trying to play it, sold it for about £25 on ebay.

Thankfully we were not money down but I feel sorry for the ebayer.

I did at the time. I actually found the first level enjoyable, then the game shattered my trust (and myself).

A little fat cousin of mine loved it. So since I like the adventure games I was pretty hyped to try it out.

NEVER AGAIN!

I was in a similar situation; my little brother is a big fan of Sonic X and rented the game from Gamefly and was having troubles in a few spots. I offered to help out and that's how I came to know (and fear) the game.

"Sonic the Hedgehog literally has everything: platforming - some of it amid situations you simply will not believe - high speed chases, close quarters combat, multiple vehicles, flying, speed zones, character customization, real lite cinemas (skillfully acted - this is Sega's best localization to date), beautiful CG, telekinesis, RPG elements, open-world exploration, rail-grinding, rampant diversity, epic bosses, a fantastic soundtrack, a beautiful princess to save - you actually spend a level carrying her - and next-gen visuals that make you happy to be alive. You simply can't ask for more out of an action game. Mission accomplished. Sonic is born anew"

I love the camera, making sure you never get to see what you want, I m back in that craptown and I must squeeze through a gap, I buy a powerup and then I run and don't even need the power up to squeeze there....
Yep I just ran through the wall!

look at the lp page. The list the amount of time spent in loading screens per level and overall

Game is awesome. I really liked how they put shadow in badass things like motorbikes and cars. Had so much fun just Twisted metalin' on shadows snow level.

I... just.... what? Are you looking for a notsureifserious.jpg ?

bah...just wait till you see Sonic the hedgehog 4's minecart and casino act 2 stages.
they are the same league of suckiness

edit:
youtube comment:
Damn..I wish the gameplay wasn't in it, it ruins the loading screens!

:lol :lol

Dear god this is the mother of all train wreck,
I beat a shitty boss despite the camera,
then a shitty sand level that's horribly designed (use theshield to walk on sand. That make sense...wait WHAT?)

I understand better the soul sucking nature of the game now,
there's so much wrong that if you try to process it you get overdosed by the suckiness

I'm watching the Let's Play, and the first thing the player has to do that can be considered a challenge (not in a difficulty sense, but in having a goal to complete) resembles the "Solve my maze" segment of Superman 64.

This has to be a joke thread.

So that's where the majority of budget for the game went.

Just wait for radical train. Or the ending segment. There is a reason the videos are named after the 5 stages of grief.
