Oh no not another The Last of Us Pt2 Thread

P.s. give it a go to Elden Ring.. its a souls game made for the casual/normies and the mentally challenged "professional" game journalists , full of helps and mechanisms to make the game easy.
Its an absolutely dogshit open world dark souls imho but as an easier entry point to the series its perfectly fine.
hey Elden Ring is a great game, but I agree that the spirit ashes are basically the easy mode.

Game could have been better designed, but the overall sense of adventure it gave me was something else.

Yeah I hate this game way more than I should and I admit this .. and I still got the platinum... go figure

I would say after recently replaying original Dark Souls, that is MUCH easier than Elden Ring even with sprite ashes.
Yeah Dark Souls is kinda easy if you've already played way harder stuff like Bloodborne or Sekiro.

And even more so if you used a 2-handed sword. My last replay was with one of those and I was cleaning up the floor with bosses lol. :goog_relieved:

After six years there are people still trying to convince others this, things never change......a bit like it's LTS after a year

Edit, I was wrong, TV show and Remaster boosted numbers up by 0.3

The mentally challenge part its just for part of the the professional press, that should do this you know "professionally" but for years bitched about DS extreme difficulty
They're just larpers, half the time they probably don't even play these games but are just dreaming of writing for the NYT, just frauds on every level

Just shitty activists half the time.

I was surprised how generous parry window compare to other FROM games, its so easy to parry even with normal shield, you literally could parry Gwyn to death.

The biggest challenge in Dark Souls is environmental hazards more than actual fight itself.

PlayStation has achieved what I thought was difficult. With all the promotion they're giving Horizon and The Last of Us... it's getting to the point where all the commercialism is starting to annoy me about these IPs.

Yeah imo the game was more about the dungeon crawling and world exploration rather than boss fights. I kinda miss that from their games, specially after having played King's Field IV I would love for them to go back to the slower pace with more focus on atmosphere. Or hey, if they really want to focus on combat then just make Sekiro 2! Man that would make me happy.

Thankfully the indie scene has picked up on that. There are TONS of KF-likes being made.

Oh man I would LOOOVE Sekiro 2. That game is my favourite FROM game not just because of its AMAZING combat but its story telling. Sekiro has proper character arcs and proper story….i was truly care about the characters in that game.

I like the "lore" in Demon/Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Elden Ring but if you tell me if I care about any of its characters I would say none.

Good game, but a terrible sequel... And it ruined my experience with those silly locations involving visiting a religious site and the animal cruelty.

It's a very overrated video game.

You and me both my man. It's a crime Activision never cared enough to make an order for some neat single-player DLC. Hopefully we'll get that sequel one day, the almost rythm-based combat felt like pure bliss to play.

I think the only ones I got slighly invested with were Ranni and the wolf dude, but mostly because they had a pretty cool and long sidequest. I agree that the characters in Sekiro were much cooler and way more developed. Wish they tried that approach to story telling more often.

Hell dude, you know what? I think I cared more about the characters in Armored Core VI than most souls characters, and those were just represented by they avatars lol. :goog_relieved:

FUCK YEAH Armore Core VI had great characters with Walter, Wolf and Ayre and they are fully developed though out the game even tho you never see their face.

Incredible game - not sure if it's quite as good as TLoU or Uncharted 4, but it's still great. I felt it maybe went on maybe five hours too long.

one of the bravest storytelling in video gaming. to craft such a story with incredibly unique pacing is practically not possible for majority of other game developers. especially the way story pieces together with different timelines makes this game one of the most unique story experiences you can ever have. it is likely we'll never see the likes of this game again due to the reception it has gotten. it's clearly not for everyone

I'd take Sekiro 2 any day. My favourite also from all the FROM games. It was really an amazing experience and the combat was god-tier as well as brutal.

Also the fact its true ending Returning the Dragon ending is great set up for the sequel.....we really need Sekiro 2.

Definitely, I assume the true dragon's origin is in China or is it in the west of Japan?, but I doubt we'll get a sequel. FROM got that Elden Ring money, so we can expect only that from now on.

You never know, I almost give up on getting new Armored Core after huge success of Souls but we actually got one....Never say never.

Last of us 1 lived rent free in my head over a year from when I beat it. Loved it.

Last of us 2 is half a good game and half a fridge bitch simulator. Disappointed is an understatement.

I don't have much hope in intergalactic either.

TLOU2 is the textbook definition of im14andthisisdeep

The whole 'revenge is bad' trope was done a million times better in RDR2.
What's worse is that Sony just did the GUIZE REVENGE BAD!!! crap with Ghost of Yotei. The oh so coveted Sony "BaNgErS" that normies love to prattle on about are really starting to get old. The only exclusives I've given a damn about this entire generation from Sony were Stellar Blade and Astro Bot just because neither of those games had that pretentiousness about them that Sony exclusives tend to have.

As many others have already said: game has incredible gameplay, graphics, sound, music, acting.

But the storytelling is a big fumble. Even without major changes it could be improved by playing around a little bit with the order of some events. I truly think killing Joel when/how they did was a bad storytelling move. Because of their choice, they had to spend half the game trying to convince you in the most manipulative and heavy handed ways that Abby is a nice person and that you should sympathize with her.

One of these heavy handed ways is committing character assassination when it comes to Ellie. Her personality and charisma from TLOU 1 are completely gone and it's probably by design. Can't have you siding with her too much now, can we?

By the end it truly felt hollow and very edgelordy. The "revenge, cycle of hatred" trope has been beaten to death already and the game didn't have anything new to say. We lost 2 great characters with great chemistry in one fell swoop.

Why do some of you feel the need to dismiss or entertain your opinion about a game through videos of others peoples opnions is shocking to me. "hey guys look this guy, he says this X game is shit/amazing just like I told you so!". What's the point? Tell us YOUR opinion of the game, I dont give a shit about some random youtuber, or dont tell us your opinion and accept that people have different tastes. I dont need validation from people about what I liked or disliked, but some of you are obsessed with it.
This is common with so many people and not just videos and I agree its utter shit. I think there is a dumb bias that if you can find something, anything, online that you agree with that you are validated because its simply posted on some blog or youtube. This is why the negative videos about popular franchises are so popular. People look for someone whining about woke or what have you and feel like they are part of team shitty attitude. I am willing to be that the dumber ones who watch it probably didn't have as many issues as the tuber but then take the tuber's opinion as their own. The perverse part of this is that these videos are posted because they want views so they are creating their own demand by cultivating an audience of people who can't think for themselves.

It has to be said that the sheer length of time people have been talking/arguing about the story in TLOU2 implicitly proves that Druckmann made the right choice.

Also its pretty funny that throughout all this the lack of comment on the gameplay -still pretty much universally positive- has been a constant.

TLOU2 threads bum me out more than anything. Does anyone else feel empathetically bad for the people who view it as the highest visual art experienced in their lifetimes? What baggage does an opinion like that come with? Think about it. Our myths are what inspire us. Some think of all the pain spared by a hero's actions in battle or a heroic communal efforts to gather enough food for winter against all odds after a terrible harvest. Defending a clergy from invading barbarians. Nah, for me it's the teenage lesbian who defeats hundreds of men in face-to-face combat with the highest stakes. To what end you ask? None. No reason. She was just mad.

This need to be framed. Well said. And something I say on here too.

It would be alright 7 out of 10 rated story on goodreads

and the fact that gamers have such extreme opinions about a basic story just shows how immature this group is.
