Tim Schaffer and the brilliant minds over at Double Fine are releasing Stacking next Tuesday, and PlayStation Plus subscribers are getting a free download of the game the day it hits the PlayStation Store! Take control of Charlie Blackmore, a small matryoshka dolls, as you explore the diorama-like levels. Much like previous Double Fine games (Costume Quest & Psychonauts), expect some great humor and gameplay in this new adventure title.

Ho-ly-sh*t... That is kinda amazing. Props to whoever made that deal happen!

Edit: Totally happening for EU too!

Superb EU news too.
Feel like I should buy this game though and show the support, ah but instead I will use the money to buy the russian dolls on the Double Fine web store.

Nice. This is the kind of stuff Sony should be doing with Plus.

I wasn't planning on renewing my sub when it runs out in a week, but fuck it, this is probably enough incentive to re-up. I don't like the idea of not actually owning the game, but it would be $2 more than buying the game outright and I would also get to keep playing what I have and the new stuff like Sonic 1.

You win this round, Sony.

So I could either buy Stacking for 15 euro or buy 90 days of PSN+ (which includes Stacking and more) for 15 euro?

That's an amazing deal right there.

The difference is you'll have Stacking until PSN dies or for 90 days.

So, I let my Plus lapse a while back. Just to check, as long as I sign up before the 9th I will get this ... right?

Regarding subs, why don't you just do one year in the USA? SCEA is still offering 15 months for $49.99.

Makes me wonder what kinda stuff the PSP2 will get for PSN+ users.

I'm hoping Sony folds over PSN plus to NGP. Would definitely be a big incentive to buy the portable.

don't know anything about this game, but i picked up a ps+ 3 month card last week...feels good.

Let me get this right, if I sign up to PSN+ I get all the freebies such as DLC and games only for duration of the subscription?

That's the point. Its like Netflix. All free and available as long as you subscribe.

You do get to keep everything you purchased with a + discount, themes, avatars, DLC... just not freebie games (PSN, minis, PS1) if your subscription expires.

DLC doesn't expire. Games you buy with the discounts don't expire. PS1 games, games you get for free, and minis do. But when you resubscribe, you should be able to access them again.

Okay. That doesn't sound too bad. I think I might actually be purchasing one in that case.
