Finished season 5. It was an alright show.
Ruth always annoyed me, and I never grew to like her. She always seemed so self centered, and I really didn't like the actress that played her.
The actor that played Nate was pretty shitty. Any time he was supposed to be grieving, scared, or stressed, it was completely unbelievable (especially so when he cried). I was also really tired of the relationship between him and Brenda by the time it was over. All the drama between them felt completely overused and every episode would be a new fight that always ended same. Also that smirk that actor always seemed to have on his face got so fucking annoying by the end.
I also grew to hold a special grudge against all the main characters because they all seem so self-centered. Every conversation between a main character and some secondary character always turned into an opportunity for the main character to complain about the shit in their life, now matter how inconsequential it was.
Overall, it was an OK show. It didn't seem like anything special and I probably won't watch it again.

i think the ending is a total disgrace, its totally diferent from the rest of the series, made in the way to cause tears and more tears to the audicence, with that song... a total betray to the rest of the series, 6FU was real, brutal, honest, the ending is the corniest thing ive ever seen.

I think, to some degree, the ending was worth it considering it was a long running television series as a bit of catharsis for viewers. Especially with how things ended with Nate.

I love Peter Krause because of this show and Sports Night. I appreciate that the show played with the ideal of a true protagonist through Nate. Ultimately, the show did a good job of showing a dysfunctional mess of a family dealing with the reality of death every day.

Now, that said, I still feel betrayed by how things ended with Nate.
