SHOCKING NEWS (???): FIFA 13 confirmed for Wii U

If the touchscreen implementation bothers you that much, just play it as you normally would on the other consoles.

I think the problem is that he's assuming that it will be the only way to play the game.

even the crappy wii fifas could be played with the CC/CC Pro; I don't see why this doesn't.

Right, it all looks like optional aspects. Some of which I imagine kids can get into.

I wouldn't actually mind a good use of the touch screen for managing. Not this, as it seems a bit soft attempt and mini-game for the "rousing speech", but in the future in ways the iOS versions never tried for.

How is Vita's touchscreen and back touch-pad utilized for Fifa? Would it be very similar to, say, a dual-screen setup like the Wii U?

If it's an extra option then, everyone should be happy, no?

Sounds like it will look better than PS360 and have same control options plus the touchscreen controls. If that's the case, then sounds like a good start for EA Sports on Wii U, IMO.

Man....This just has me thinking how better some tutorials/training modes will be for certain games. It's such a pain in the ass in fighting games to pause, change something, then pause again to change another little detail. Something like this would make it on the fly.

This one is very interesting

even because the players are not in the same positions... O_o

We have already got this one explained yesteday.

You hold up the GamePad in front of your face, you are then able to look around on the field by actually turning and looking for the perfect pass or in that screenshots case, shoot.

My wish is for players not being able to pause and go to the tactical menu online, and instead let them do it all on the GamePad in real time, maybe given them a bit of time on freekicks, corners and throw-ins to adjust tactics.

Hardcore gamer version confirmed. To have so many options at our disposal in real time is... amazing.

Did not even think of it like that..damn..

That's why I loved mortal kombat trilogy DS .

Wonderful.
Really really beautiful: I'd buy it for sure.
I love Fifa HD (while PES was so perfect on the Wii and on the 3ds unlike Fifa), and I'm really happy that EA is pushing the WiiU version in the HD direction adding so cool gamepad stuffs.

I'd love to see a video

Except what you've just described is lag.

This was my point; whether it's the TV ahead or the GamePad ahead, there is a disconnect between what people are doing on the GamePad and what's on the TV. I remember reading hands-on impressions which stated as such.

So there's lag, then. Thanks for agreeing with me.

Of course there will be lag ON YOUR TV if you have a shitty LCD TV. The GamePad only highlights the problem you already have. This isn't the Wii U's fault, it's your TV. The solution? Check sites like HDTVTest/AVForums/AVSForum for input lag ratings before choosing a TV next time.

"game mode" on most modern tv's disables post image processing and reduces the lag greatly, sonic generations was unplayable until I found game mode on my Samsung LCD.

Don't mind about WiiU lag, guys. Every handson underlined pretty well how good this streaming aspect is, and I can also confirm it having played it on my own.

No shit. But even after Game Mode is enabled we're still talking 30ms+ on most LCD/LED TVs. LGs are the worst offenders though, by far. Anyway, my point is, it's not the Wii U's fault.

I wasn't directing that info for your sake, enabling game mode might save people having to go buy a new tv as you suggest.

My television has 6ms response time. 30+ with post processing off? Dafuq?

EDIT: 6, not 8.

I don't see myself tinkering with the second screen in 'live' gameplay, especially if the CPU (or human opponent) has the ball. But it can be a reason to keep replays going so you'll do quick and time-saving changes. The player will have access to this during replays and cut-scenes right?

well this gamepad thing may just be a major step forward if these work on the fly wow
What's remarkable with the GamePad is how it offers 2 games in one in so many titles already. Here we have a classic version of Fifa with enhanced ingame AI controls, as well as a brand new way to play with touchscreen controls. I see value in it, makes me want to try and buy ithe game.

During a throw-in or a free kick it's easy to pull out.

hope we get some uncompressed images later tonight, I'm pleased with this so far

Sports was the reason I wanted the WiiU to support more than 1 gamepad, but this with online play will not matter

Nintendo may just be serving crow diners again by this time next year, I'll have my fork ready to dig in if they prove my disappointment unfounded

If the manager mode lets me tinker with my game on the uPad without having the main TV on then this might replace Football Manager for me, personally. Holy shit.

its implemented greatly imo... I love using it and I don't know how I'll go back to just using a regular controller....I'm mainly talking about shooting... Passing comes in handy when you want to place the ball at a specific location.

but I believe they could've implemented the controls better WiiU.. it says you need to either shake the controller or press in L3.

I think it would've been better to use one of the shoulder or trigger buttons to bring up the shooting mechanic.

so you are dribbling with the ball..you are still looking at your TV....you get close, and without having to look down (or bring the tablet up in front of your face)...without having to look down, you hold down a shoulder/trigger button, which turns the tablet's screen into a goal post....and you just quickly click somewhere on the screen with out looking down.

now I'm sure I'm not the only one who could get a pretty accurate shot without having to look down.....it won't be 100% accurate, as if you were looking down or held it up. But it would be pretty close..and it would be less of a hindrance imo.

but I guess we should just wait and see.

those screenshots are terrible quality for sure. Can't wait for a proper HD video. Playing this on the fly on the Wiiupad? Damn yes!
