I used to stare at the sun, when I was a child and blind.
I'd raise my head and let my eyeballs feel the light.

Somewhere in the distance, the giver of sight,
My eyeballs naked sizzle under the sunlight.

No! Screams my mother as she sees me doing it once more;
Come on, I think, as I feel her worn hands clamp tight over my eyes.
I smell once more the soap she uses, her damp cool touch.

And that night I'd feel them tingle under my eyelids; I wonder
how they 'look,' although I don't know how 'look' happens;

I tongue my cracked lips, taste a hint of blood,
and wonder at the distance between the sun and myself--

the distance, between sight and I.

Imperial

Hills of sand cover white
Whispering winds from Jack Frost's lips
Bitter sting on my shaded countenance
Icy ghosts, pure but oh so empty to my tongue
Chilling and crisp

Glow in the valley
Chatter from lips often forgot
Stillness in the air in my shrowded form
Memories yearly remembered to my maw
Warm and old

Tiny Ringworms

I see them off in the distance:
two moving silhouettes blending in and out
of the frigid mountainside,
like the hand shadow puppets
Dad made to entertain me as a child.

Black circles have swallowed up
the bottoms of my eyes
like tiny ringworms, just below the surface,
forming omnivorous half crescents.
The dark side of the moon.

I've never felt so drained;
my knees knocking, my back pulsing,
my fingers shaking like leaves.
Do.
Not.
Move.

Too late. I dive to the ground
and taste dirt as I hear projectiles whiz by.
The sound of rustling foliage and snapping branches
is a surefire sign that I've been spotted.

I can't breathe in this mask, filled with
the pungent smell of my exhaustion and fear.
I'm blinded by waves of condensation
escaping my quivering lips
like steam from a tea kettle.

Sweat bleeds into my eyes and burns
my scleras in a crisscrossed pattern.
Blood vessels scream to the surface,
like red canals on Mars.
I blink away tears.

In the distance, two quick rifle cracks
deliver searing pain to my thoracic cage.
I reach down to my right side and confirm
what my nerve endings have already made known:
I've been hit.

My body leaks in Technicolor.

Not good practise to reveal password like that mate. :/
I was gonna add it later when I'd put up the final version.
Never mind. Too busy.

Well, i'm a hardcore poet. Just gonna wing a few.

Love?

I see, beyond what I can hear. Out of my window.
The wind is like love. Or trying to smell a shadow.
Its real, but at the same time it isn't. The tree leaves fall.
It's almost winter.

I feel, what heaven is like. By knowing what Im missing in my life.
The taste of wine from last night, keeps my mind utterly relaxed.
I had a joy in waking up alive.

I hear, what I can not see. Her breathing, it whispers deep.
As she snores her tiny snores, ever second. The room is quiet.
And than it's not.
My heartbeat sounds like a transmission. Syncing to her pulse,
that I feel while her arm surrounds my torso.

But I know, that sleeping next to her.
Makes me want to see into the distance.
I close my eyes, the future shines bright.
No darkness, no misery, the greatest thing in life is invisible.

In the distance there is something waiting
It's on the edge of reality and its existence is exasperating

It eludes the vision, since it is not of comprised of light
And you cannot hear it, since it makes no sounds, day or night

If you try to touch it, it will escape your grasp
It has not odor, stench, or smell, it moves too fast

And you will never be able to catch its taste on your tongue
But without trace, it will weave easily in and out of your lungs

In the distance there is something waiting, but closer than ever before
No longer is it in the distance, as now it is knocking on your door
