Was the 360 ELITE a limited offer?

There are millions of whiny 5-year olds on Earth, and I AM THEIR KING.
My 360 ELITE broke and I am trying to get a new one (got my money back from Costco). However, it is very difficult to find one in retail stores. Also, everybody tells me that they have not received any shipments since the initial one. So far, they do not have them at any Gamestop, EB Games, Costco, or Circuit City in my area, and neither in any of the online stores for these sites. Also, the cheapest one in Amazon.com is $100 over the original price. WTF! Will I ever be able to get another 360 with HDMI capabilities?

I dont give a damn. The amount of joy I was getting out of it is worth this much suffering and more. BTW this is my third broken 360.
 
No, but there isn't much stock of it available. Keep looking, you should be able to find one eventually.

My Premium 360 is still working, so it is not that bad. However, I hate not having a second one for lan parties. Specially this weekend, the first one after finals.
 
I'm noticing a trend here. Its as though the official busted 360 thread has spilled over into the streets of GAF. Sorry to hear about your broken elite, I don't know if it was limited or not. I'm still praying my refurb will last.

I am not trying to do bad PR here. As I said, the games are great and thats why I keep buying the console even if I have to replay my games everytime my 360 broke. Good thing this time I was prepared so I just started playing with my spare 360 and its going well. However, I believe that for the ammount of pain I have gone through MS should at least give me something free, or at least another interview (not fair, I blew up my first one when I was a sophmore).

The last place I saw several of them was at Sams, but I think it was a bundle. Other then that I have spotted them at Wal Mart a couple of times, never at Best Buy, Circuit City or Target.
 
Y'all know that this is all about MS trying to keep the BLACK console in the minority. Racists in Redmond CONFIMRED! :lol

How is MSFT gonna profit with all these repair/warranty costs?

How come the retailers don't revolt from having to deal with a product that gets returned so often?
 
The Elite was just MS seeing it if needed to do a price drop. Elite sold out = people will buy they're expensive hardware a.k.a no price drop soon. I they sat on store shelves we'd be hearing about a price drop on the premium. I expect Elite to fade like the 20gb ps3.

Main reason Microsoft don't feel the need to fix the damn thing. I bet if everyone stopped buying after the problem was clear we'd already have working hardware.
 
Sorry to hear that your 360 ELITE is dead. I guess I am lucky my core 360 is working fine.
I have had it for 9 months and had no problems. I guess it is true that the core system is the must reliable.

Where did you hear that? Being that it's identical to the premium, I believe it's definitely just as crappy as any 360.

Has GAF had a debate yet on which hardware was more reliable; the ps2 or 360?
 
I was kind of hoping they would throw in an HDMI port in the Pro and Cores yet or offer the Elite in white. The dull almost charcoal color they chose doesn't look that great in person.
