Game of the Show: Halo 4. Went into E3 expecting letdowns, but what I saw looks fantastic. Still have some concerns about multiplayer with all of the customization elements, but the campaign and Spartan Ops looks to be enough to make me happy.
Best PlayStation 3 Game:Beyond. Very light on the gameplay but the concept sounds fairly interesting and the cast will probably be stellar (even though we only heard Ellen Page say, what, 4 lines?). I missed the title for The Last of Us, I just looked up and thought it was a new Uncharted game in a flooded city. Getting really tired of "Gritty and Mature third-person cover-based shooters." Also, no zombies in your zombie game? What's up with that?
Best Xbox 360 Game: Halo 4 (See above)
Best Wii U Game: Pikmin 3, even though I like the way ZombiU uses the gamepad's features in ways I'm hoping other developers do (and not just slap a map down there). Colonial Marines is also high on the list, of course.
Best PC Game: Watch_Dogs. Of course. Just wish it hadn't devolved into Gunplay, the potential is there for the hero to be smarter/better than that. He can hack into anything, but of course he solves all of his problems by shooting things like a common space marine? Blarg. Still looks amazing though.
Best Portable Game:Castlevania. Usually ends up being a system-seller for me, but I'm not sold on the 2.5D visuals and LoS-inspired combat. Mercurysteam, despite professing to be huge fans of the classic Castlevania games, doesn't seem to be going in that direction. Hmmmmmm...
Best Tech: Watch_Dogs. 1313 was pretty, but it's another goddamned Gritty and Mature Third Person cover-based Shooter, which does not interest me. The visuals are there, but the gameplay tech looks yawn-worthy and I can't see the game having very long legs with so much going towards the visuals. Watch_Dogs on the other hand looked amazing AND had gameplay mechanics that are fairly unique.
