It sounds like the game will release simultaneously for 360 and PS3 (the "there from day one" comment lends credence to this).

However, this is still huge for Microsoft. No one in the know is going to buy a PS3 JUST for GTA4 now, and the exclusive online content may sway some console agnostic GTA fans into Microsoft's camp. Combine that with a more casual friendly price point and a larger userbase heading into 2007...Sony is in trouble, at least in the West.

Even a timed exclusive is a big boon for 360 over the PS3. Witness what it did for the PS2 last gen... The PS2 versions outsold their Xbox counterparts by millions and millions.

On October 16th 2007 Grand Theft Auto 4 will be available on Xbox 360. There was no mention of an exclusive to 360.

The game is not exclusive to the 360. What is exclusive is new downloadable content for GTA 4 via the Xbox Live thingy.

Soooo, GTA4 will be on the PS3 as well, likely a little furthe down the road or at the same time. Not sure...

Good move on MS' part though to get GTA4 first. I would have cried if they had locked it up completely. No way I can buy two consoles.
