Some have some extreme amounts of make-up on, I prefer it subtle. I don't like it when make-up makes a person look like a completely different human being.

It's a vicious cycle for some. They wear lots of make-up to get the look, then their skin suffers, then they have to use more make-up to cover the bad skin, then skin gets even worse... Basically foundation does terrible things to people.

The first is prettier with it and cuter without it. The second one is the only one I've seen that I'd say makes a case for makeup as a whole.

Well...not all of them. It's also a different matter when you get used to seeing someone with or without a certain amount of makeup. Were you to see them and their appearance deviated from what was "normal" for them, it would look odd or different. You're suddenly seeing all the little flaws in someone's face that they usually cover up, and some applications of makeup are almost optical illusions in how they "change" facial structures. If men wore makeup all the time and then didn't wear it one day, it would illicit a similar (but most likely less critical) reaction.

People certainly look a lot less intimidating and more human, more personable, without makeup on, though.
