You're a cheap ol' SOB. But you still want to go on an adventure. In Space. Along comes Uexplore with the opportunity to go on an Affordable Space Adventure to Spectaculon, an uncharted but "safe" planet, in a Small Craft™ spaceship. Naturally, you take it. Problem is, this particular hunk of metal isn't the fanciest dress in the closet and after some "turbulence" you find yourself sitting in your Small Craft™ amidst what is clearly a very "unsafe" environment, with only the most basic functions of your ship still running.

Now it's up to you to fiddle around with the knobs, sliders, and other controls of the Small Craft™ to navigate out of this death trap and politely ask for your money back.

#### ORIGIN STORY DLC ####
Released on November 12 2015 (NA+PAL), the Origin Story DLC is part of a free update that can be selected from the difficulty select screen and offers new levels with extra tough challenges. The update itself also rebalances and tweaks the entire game based on community feedback.

If you have already installed the game, you'll need to manually redownload the whole things since the update actually replaces everything.

Is this a single player game or just co-op?
The entire game can be played alone, with two or even three players. Whatever floats your boat. You can multitask by going solo or yell at someone else who's pointing the light in the wrong direction while you try to keep the engine from overheating and your the other one is blindly steering the ship towards a laser barrier.
So what do you do in this game?
It's a linear puzzle adventure with stealth elements. Stealth in this case means that your ship isn't a Viper MK-II and has to avoid enemies by outsmarting them. You control the Small Craft™ by regulating its systems via the GamePad touch screen. Ship movements are handled with one analog stick while the search light is controlled with the other stick. In co-op, the ship movements and search light are taken over by the other players.
How long is this?
Reviews put it in the 5-9 hour range for one playthrough. It's a linear game so you'll only get a different experience when you try out the co-op. There are two difficulty modes: Technician and Tourist.
It took me 8:23 to beat it and it's totally worth the price. One of the best experiences on eShop.
When can I Await this Greatness or play it on my All-in-One Entertainment System?
Never. This game was designed from the ground up for Wii U and the Wii U GamePad as it takes full advantage of the asymmetric gameplay capabilities presented by the system's unique control interface. You'll not play this anywhere else.
The name is ironic, isn't it?
Depends on your value sensibilities. You're getting a full-fledged game here, exclusively made for the platform and taking full advantage of its core feature. Something that many have been clamoring for since Wii U came out. Here is KnapNok's statement regarding the price.

Yes, the subtitle is a reference to Serenity (2005).

***OT will be updated as needed.***

Cant wait for this one. Looks like it has the same kind of kitschy ad style that Portal had pre-release.

Hoping this turns out to be the Wii Us equivalent of World of Goo in terms of being absolute genius use of the controls.

Great OT. I'll quote my thoughts from the other thread:
This is sooo good. Such a pleasant surprise.

I got strong Portal vibes from it, it's a sci-fi puzzle game with very original mechanics and an astounding attention for detail. The atmosphere is mysterious and charming.
It took me 8:23 to beat it and it's totally worth the price. One of the best experiences on eShop.

Can't wait to pick this up. My friends and I should have a blast trying to cooperate. That or we'll stop being friends because I ordered them around too much and yelled a bit. Either way, a good time will be had by all! :P

Haven't been following this game but it's a must buy for the creative use of the gamepad plus being a good game to boot.

Can't wait to try it out this weekend.

Downloaded the game just some hours ago. I tested a couple of levels in single player, but we'll probably play through the game as 3-player co-op from now on. Very polished game from what I've seen so far.

How focused on co-op is this? I'll probably pick this up at some point but it feels like most of the good stuff I've heard focuses on the co-op stuff, which doesn't interest me at all. Reviews seem to indicate it'll be okay but I'm curious to hear impressions of the solo mode specifically.

....affordable?

It's in the OP:

Aw man, my Wii U is at my brother's place because of an oral exam I'm having tomorrow. (Yes, Wii U has enough games to cause distraction)

Depending on the result and my mood I'll be getting it as soon as I have my Wii U back!

Not focused at all if you don't like that. It's an awesome solo experience. Completed the game solo here. Will do again. Co-op is just a nice idea and another way to do it.

Didnt even think about the fact this game wouldnt have off-tv play. Well that pretty much sealed a non purchase for me. Looks like a very good and polished game though so hopefully it does well.

It's one of the best uses of the GamePad. To dismiss the game over no Off-TV Play is kind of silly.

Generally the games that use the gamepad in any meaningful way don't have off-tv for the very reason that they are designed around two screens. More so when you need to actively input things on the second screen.

I wish more developers would consider creating games without off-TV play in mind, because then maybe we'd get more experiences like Affordable Space Adventures.

How is the game comparing to Infinitely Twisted Shadow Planet?

I looked at some co-op of ITSP videos, and there seems to be no similarities in terms of game mechanics. In Affordable Space Adventures co-op, each player controls different parts of one single space ship.

Passing on it right now for $25 CAD, even though I was looking forward to it quite a bit. I really loved Spin the Bottle as a party game though. I'll hopefully be about to pick up ASA eventually, because impressions sound very good.

oh man this game looks sick! Gonna subscribe and buy this the next time my nephews come over.

Sucks that its pretty much a one time experience. Something like this in a rogue like environment would be incredible, especially since it reminds me of space team.

Knapnok supported Spin the Bottle with additional content post release, so hopefully they will do the same here if it sells well.
