Haven't seen it yet so I don't know how how spoilery it is.

So many Witcher threads already, GAF is turning into Geralt nexus lol. Any game, be it Hearts of Iron 4 or any other, will have one tough task eclipsing this as my GOTY.

I love him poking fun at Roche (the horse) being so dumb. Hell, I prefer the other horses other than Roche. I wish they'd let me pick my horse.

Can't see the review yet but seems a little harsh scoring the consoles version 10 points less, if it's because performance i think it's harsh, the game runs OK, better than previous gen open world games, if it was OK back than why it's unacceptable now?

It was obvious since launch that games won't run 30 locked on consoles for long, it's unavoidable as soon as tech will progress, for console gamers who are used to this, TW3 is running good enough.

I'm in tears. I never thought about how ridiculous Witcher 3's theme song was until I see Angry Joe lip syncing it.

Consoles 9/10

He still gave the console versions a 9/10. That's a good score.

Higher FPS on the PC version actually helps a huge amount with the laggy/clunky movement controls, so maybe that's where he's coming from.

so shipping a game as buggy as this gets a 9 and 10 from pro-consumer angry joe? interesting.

they're working fast to patch, I guess, but it rubs me the wrong way.

There is pretty much a new thread every time Angry Joe posts a review.

Really weird to me that people complain about movement, I don't have any problem with it, I don't feel it's laggy or anything, naturally animations are not as good as Uncharted but for an open world game I played games that controlled worse like GTA5.

I really don't get what people are talking about regarding movement in this game, oh well, for me even classic RE games controls fine, so maybe i have higher tolerance or something.

Oh no, you are right.. because from the past we know of many bug-free open-world RPGs, like... well... there was...

W3 is in the best shape when it comes to bugs and problems in the open-world RPG genre in the last 10 years

Even lets say the Witcher 3 is the least buggy game in the genre, which I don't believe it is, it's doesn't mean it's good enough and it clearly impacts on the experience in several ways. A 10 is unrealistic unless you actually have a fetish for janky software.

Personally, I'm holding off for a major patch that fixes all the obvious problems, or for a complete edition at bargain price. Whichever arrives first.

I kinda hope they don't patch out the infinite spin dancing. Looks too cool.

It's really not, and sub-30fps has not been the standard for open world games this gen. Fucking GTAV is locked 30fps on PS4 now and there's a hell of a lot more going on in that game than in TW3. Infamous Second Son and Far Cry 4 are both solid. Even Dragon Age: Inquisition rarely has a hitch.

The video has spoilers?
Sometimes Joe talks too much about the story

didn't watch it but i wouldn't. he always, ALWAYS spoils things just cause he doesn't think its important or its not a major spoiler even when it is. for example, in his age of ultron review he mentioned(obvious age of ultron spoilers ahead):
that someone dies, he deemed it wasn't a spoiler because he didn't say who dies. like wtf? thats very much a spoiler since marvel never said someone was going to die

Did I say anything about past games? but thanks for pointing it out, WRPGs are pretty plagued by this.

We need to compete with bloodborne. So we need topics like "Witcher 3 players who haven't played 2, how's it going? "

"Witcher 3 beginners tips"

"After Witcher 3, I can't go back to 2"

"Should Witcher 3 have a breakfast cereal tie in?"

And so on.

My immediate thought.

Thirded. He is usually quick to slag off or make an angry rant video about these sort of things so I wonder why this gets a free pass? I love this game but it baffles me why something like AC: unity gets shit ripped out of it yet this goes ignored or without critique. This game (on consoles) is up there with Skyrim in terms of crazy bugs.

man people comparing this game's bugs and technical problems to Unity or Skyrim are so crazy....

or maybe I just got very lucky so far ? (30h in).

Apparently. I don't really see the mass appeal with AngryJoe either. He does provide entertainment value I suppose but it is just all a bit too juvenile. Then again, I've only watched a few clips and in this instance skipped to the end to see what his conclusion was. Glad he enjoyed the game though.

Unity was shit and Witcher 3 is amazing despite the flaws? It's that simple.

Also what I have bolded is completely untrue.

I said last gen games ran worst than TW3 on consoles, yea this gen open world was solid up until now, but cross gen era is over; tech is pushed harder, performance isn't as solid, pretty natural for consoles.

It it bothers you than you should switch to PC, you can't be too sensitive about such stuff when you are a console player, especially not next gen open world games.

Hope no one will freak out when Batman won't hold 30 locked... maybe now just reduced automatically to any open world console game the score because of that.

Finished the game on PC (120h) without encountering any game breaking bugs. A few hilarious bugs with floating faces though but nothing major.

But yeah, 10/10 is well deserved. Masterpiece of a game.

Not my video. But I posted this in the OT because I love the way this guy puts his videos together:

One of the main selling points of consoles is to avoid shitty performance by providing a standard predictable hardware base for developers to code to. On the contrary, console players should be especially sensitive to this stuff. There's simply no excuse for framerates to be moving over a wide range during normal gameplay.
EDIT: To be clear, as I've only mentioned developers above, I understand that very often it's because publishers force unrealistic budgets/deadlines on developers that they're forced to put their name to sub-standard work.

Not even close sorry, and I played it even before the first patch.

It's better performance wise when it first released than Unity, Skyrim and most open-world games.

Everything is black or white for games. There is no grey area.

And yes my experience with the game is completely untrue. Maybe it's the euro jank or the open world but this game is buggy as hell. Character pathing being stupid, NPC's faces sliding off, floating, aggressive texture pop in and goats/NPC's interrupting the emotional cutscenes by glitching into them and much much more. Sounds up there with Skyrim to me.
