There's another thread for the interview here but, sure, I was expecting DR3 at TGS (or at the SCEJ conference). No more than something like a teaser trailer and initial story details and art like we've seen for Zero Escape 3, though.

He doesn't actually say Danganronpa 3 does he? He just says the next game in the franchise. Could be another sidestory/inbetween game/spinoff like Another Episode, which I wouldn't mind.

Said it might make TGS in the community thread but got shot down for it. Although looking at when DR2 was announced an announcement of the game but not a massive media blowout is easily possible with a trailer but not much else.

Danganronpa has consecutively been featured at Sony's pre-TGS conference 3 times now. Dunno why it got shot down, it's the most likely candidate.

Heck, DR3 was teased at Sony's TGS 2013 event.

Wow, to think I'd be so hyped for a series I thought I was going to hate.

Would personally love to see if they decide to do something other than Vita as their only platform as that game actually has potential to sell bigger.

The tease they did 2 years ago was a bit too early. Probably just in case there would be a backlash for Another Episode being TPS and all.

Kodaka addresses that in the interview. He says that it's purely a matter of budget, and that he'd actually want to make something for PS4, as a creator. The sales numbers for DR1 and DR2 in Japan determined that DR:AE should be on the Vita, but the potential success of DR:AE in NA and the success of DR:AE in Japan might change things in the future.

I'm expecting Live2D applied to a flat model. So cardboard cutouts from the side like Danganronpa 1 and 2, but with animations and fluidity.

Eep. I'd play DanganRonpa wherever, but I'm not sure I'd enjoy it as much on a big screen as I did on Vita. Just as I don't enjoy gridder DRPG's as much on a big screen either.

from what i've heard of the story it doesn't seem like it really sets anything up. I only have general plot details though.

I expected it at TGS, so it doesn't surprise me. Now then, I wonder where will the storyline go considering the events of DR2. Apparently Another Episode sends signs in that direction, but I'm in a blackout until it arrives here so I don't know.

The possibility of getting DR3 and ZE3 the same year is glorious.
