I can only see this being worth doing if your controller is old/worn. Otherwise you're taking a loss of $30 to get a cosmetic change.

That white controller is totally ruined by the gold Dpad, It looks hideous. I had a white controller that came with the SO bundle and it was gorgeous. Can't believe what a difference that Dpad color makes.

I am definitely going to do this. I still have an original model controller that must go, and I'd really like the Locke one. I would highly recommend doing this to anyone that has not upgraded to one of the new model controllers. The new bumpers are a game changer for the XB1 controller.

It also has rubberized grips for your fingertips.

I purchased the lunar white one for primary use on my PC and I like it a lot. Maybe I'll trade in my original pad for console, as well.

Do they check controllers when you trade them in? I've got one that I can't use anymore cause the right thumb stick drifts constantly.

In my experience they usually just do a quick visual inspection for controller trade ins. But YMMV.
