Smash Wii U/3DS: 3 Character Slots & 3 Stage Slots Found in Recent Patch Data (1.1.1)

I'm still not sure why they use that "Tikibuzz" pointer for their empty strings. Also I made a mistake, there's 6 stage slots.

Not sure why there's one empty slot between the Mario Maker stage and the Duck Hunt one though. Maybe something wasn't done yet. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Marios are the character placeholders while the Tikibuzzes are the stage placeholders. There's 2 stage placeholders for the normal stages & 2 for the Omega variants. For reference, there were only 2 character placeholders prior to this update. As for the third set of stage placeholders, those could have been for Pirate Ship. Take these for what you will.
 
IIRC, as for the Mario Maker & Duck Hunt comment, wasn't Pirate Ship named the same way cross-system stages are-implying it might've been intended to come to the 3ds?

looks like they learned. Either that or three different variations of mario for the last 3 hidden characters. That would be glourious.
 
Are Wolf and Pichu the only characters missing aside from Snake and Ice Climbers? I'd imagine the third spot would be the "winner" of the ballot.
 
Alright Sakurai and Co., stop bullshitting and give us Magicant from the 3DS version.

Also Wolf, Shovel Knight and ??? Let's goooooooooo!

The winner of the ballot isn't guaranteed to get in the game. The Smash Ballot is more of a suggestion box than an election.
 
Anyways, once the DLC is done, they should just throw like 20 empty slots in to make the eventual modding these games will get easier. Brawl modding is still held back by the amount of slots it had.

That's why I used quotations since I don't think the ballot is going to end up meaning all that much.

Where is all this Professor Layton stuff coming from? There's been little support from him here or elsewhere, so I can't imagine he's still that popular... Or am I missing something?

Either way, those would be a sad set of characters to potentially end the DLC gravy train with.

Christopher Robin Miller mentioning that he recorded lines for an action-based game. He thought it was Smash, but now he's not 110% sure.
 
I wouldn't think we would get any info on the ballot when it ends. It will likely be months before we know anything about the results.

Because his voice actor casually leaked it on Twitter! Smash fans cling to fake rumors because they have nothing better to do.

You have to imagine that if the winner of the ballot is a first-party character who is in any way feasible they'll work to make it happen or else the fans will feel robbed. I mean, if it's a third party character or someone like Ridley that they clearly have no intention of doing then I'd understand. But otherwise... what was the point?
 
Just enough space for Isaac from Golden Sun, Isaac from Golden Sun 2, and Isaac from Golden Sun 3! Perfect!

Actually if I had to guess it's Shovel Knight and then who even knows. I hope Saffron 64 is in there too with all the Pokemon.

I don't know if it's common for voice actors, but the idea that you could go in and record a bunch of lines and not know what it's for seems really weird to me.

It's not unusual for that to happen, since said practice serves as a means to prevent leaks.

Judging by the placement of the other two that you're referring to, they may have been for Pirate Ship. Either way, I edited the title on my end to reflect the fact.

I must say, if this all pans out and we get seven total DLC characters...

48 base characters + Three Mii Fighters + 7 DLC characters = 58 characters. That's pretty insane we made it this far.

That actually surpasses the amount of characters in MVC2, lol.
