The year ends with ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops III’ (-39%) comfortably rooted to No1, making it five weeks at the top in 2015, a record only beaten by ‘FIFA 16’ which managed six weeks.

There is also no change at No2 as ‘Star Wars Battlefront’ (-39%) remains popular, having stayed in the Top 3 since launch. ‘Fallout 4’ (-34%) finishes the year ahead of ‘FIFA 16’ (-54%), jumping one place to No3, while the phenomenally successful football game and biggest grossing game of 2015 has to settle for No4. ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ (-32%) is a non-mover at No5, while ‘Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6: Siege’ (-9%) moves back up to its highest ever chart position, climbing three places from No9 to No6. Ubisoft’s other Top 10 title, ‘Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate’ (-44%) holds on to No7 ahead of ‘Just Cause 3’ (-48%) at No8 and ‘WWE 2K16’ (-42%) at No9. ‘Forza Motorsport 6’ (-35%) keeps another Microsoft title, ‘Halo 5: Guardians’ (-36%) out of the Top 10 as both games climb two places with Forza charting one place ahead at No10.

The entertainment sales chart for 2015 should be published today or tomorrow.

Last year, the top 20 cut off was at 704,069 units, so I doubt any other game than Fifa 16, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront and Grand Theft Auto V will chart.

Here our estimates:

Fifa 16 (Electronic Arts) - 2,512,800
Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Activision Blizzard ) - 1,930,500
Fallout 4 (Bethesda Softworks) - 1,123,100
Star Wars Battlefront (Electronic Arts) - 1,005,200

Grand Theft Auto V (Take-Two Interactive) -

How is the market doing $ wise? I recall you posted some time ago that the release of Fallout and Battlefront led to the market showing yoy.

Is there a ps4 gta bundle somewhere?
That games sales are insane.

Yes there is a PS4 GTA bundle, but the in the UK market you can get most big release in a custom bundle from GAME, Amazon etc.

I noticed GTA 5 offered for sale recently, along with plenty of new PS4 owners at Christmas.

2015 software revenue was down over last year in week 49. The market data is published by MCV and the latest issue was published a month ago, they always take a long Christmas break.

I figure out that thanks to the extra week the market (boxed software value) will remain flat or there can even be a very small increase, though I doubt it.

It's just been reduced across the board in the uk with even places like game selling the steel book version for £30, so that price drop and word of mouth should be helping it.

Xbox exclusives on the rise again, great
Been a lot of great sales on those as well as most of the, being in bundles too. Halo can be had for £24.99 now and tomb raider has been sub £30 for a week or so now a lot of places, it's a great time to pick those games up cheaper.

Gears UE definitely seems to have received a boost from the £229.99 console bundle lately, and not really surprising! It's a great deal. Good to see other XB1 exclusives performing well, too.

It answer is yes if they permanently reduce the price of all there games. Tomb Raider dropped £11 in 8 or so weeks and it's only £10 more expensive as the Definitive Edition.

I always knew Star Wars would do good numbers commercially (I mean you don't need to be an analyst for that) but even I'm pleasantly surprised at the games beastly legs.

Also what kind of numbers are we looking at for GTA V on old+current gen in UK?
Last figure I remember floating around a previous PAL chart was 5 million.

Sorry if that is totally inaccurate.

Maybe in physical, but there is the rise of digital. Anecdotal but I buy all my multiplayer games digital now, a year or 2 ago it was different.

I would bet that Bo3 is doing better than AW and Ghosts...

What's wrong with all these people still buying Battlefront? Haven't they heard that it's not complex enough? Don't they like the prequel content of BF2? How dare these people enjoy this game!

Nintendo should release hardware in the UK. There's money to be made in that region.

How so? Since FIFA 16 launch, PS4 version was ahead of Xbone version 10 times, Xbone version ahead 5 times on GFK chart.

I've added the numbers ranges for PS4/XB1/WIU ganes when we have them now (from BIU). Note that these are LTD numbers and likely aren't updated anymore 12 months after the title was released.

Sure is. Confusing the fuck out of people at work today when I send them reports for Week 53 2015.

Haha, yeah the system at my regular job refused to show week 53. If I tried to force it just crashed. Was some real 2K drama going on so I just did it old school and manually printed it out then faxed it over. Can't believe we still have a working fax machine lol.

Germany really doesn't care about XBO :|

BTW about Nintendo. Someone posted a picture a week or so back about Nintendo actually selling more software in Europe than the States...how reliable is that?

Germany week 52 (almost 1 week behind, wasn't posted until now - so that's the week including christmas day).

#73, wtf.

I've added the numbers ranges for PS4/XB1/WIU ganes when we have them now (from BIU). Note that these are LTD numbers and likely aren't updated anymore 12 months after the title was released.

For a moment i thought it was a PlayStation Only Chart haha

PlayStation domination on Europe is unreal.

Forza still doing well. I wonder if it's made up for that slow launch?

For all the talk of Germany, the numbers seem quite bit lower than the UK plus Germany has a population advantage. Before you type PC, I saw that UK pipped Germany on Steam sales. Of course as a whole including the MMO, mobile and trains sim, Germany is pretty big market, think I've read they're very similar each year overall but UK seems to be a clear winner for what we look at.

Looking at how high Driveclub was in the UK top 100 last year, it's surely sold way more in the UK than Germany?

Guess that fifa deal is working out for XBO

amazing how the PS4 is the lead for damn near everything.

I expect a lot of partnerships announced at E3

I'd love to see the data mined to try and work out what difference it's made, particularly in the UK. I suspect from my I can see "by eye" that's its really helped XB1 in UK via the bundle and advertising.

If Sony had FIFA plus the other games it's had you also have to wonder what impact that would have had on XB1?

Short version: while it's not going to do what I believe MS initially expected (built on 360 sales in Europe and give them a chance to take more market-share from Sony) it is most likely still having a beneficial role in helping the console sell more in UK than it might have done otherwise

It's really hard to tell considering the limitations on german numbers. Plus the awards including december sales haven't been posted yet.
Driveclub reached the 200-500k milestone in April 2015. No idea what the numbers look like in the UK but I doubt it sold much more.

It sold 100k+ with digital sales in 2014 in germany. Judging from chart position it was just not that far under 100k retail. It was at 44 in Top 100 (individual platform) and 66 all-platform in 2014.

It reached 200k+ (incl. digital sales) in april/15. So It did do really well in germany.
Think that DC did relatively better in germany - might still sold less overall than in uk - don't know. But DC is actually a game that performed pretty well in Germany.

Regarding steam sales: You probably related to the preliminary steam sales report from here: https://medium.com/steam-spy/preliminary-results-for-steam-sales-in-2015-43bb49a767bd#.8mxto17xz
While UK can possibly called more hardcore regarding certain games - that is not on the level that you could say "uk is ripping" germany. And you see only the best sellers there. Note that GTA V is not a steamworks title, as far as I know. Most PC gamers still buy games in retail in germany, because they are cheaper than on steam.

Other stat: http://steamspy.com/country/
Uk owners buy more games (Which also may be related to steamworks). Germans play longer single games.

Regarding active steam accounts (what ever that means). Germany has 32% more active accounts (or uk has 75% accounts of germany). This is pretty similar if you relate that to population.

It's really hard to tell considering the limitations on german numbers. Plus the awards including december sales haven't been posted yet.
Driveclub reached the 200-500k milestone in April 2015. No idea what the numbers look like in the UK but I doubt it sold much more.

I was actually going to post something similar a while back when the awards were issued. Looking at the big games we know numbers on I could see UK had way more sales. Would be really interesting to see a breakdown.

Not sure about Driveclub, lets have a look at FiFA, Fallout, Star Wars Battlefront. Perhaps Bruno can chime in but they seem quite a bit higher.

Well I never said ripped Germany. I said pipped which means "just ahead" in one article I saw and I'm just putting it out there that the lower sales can't be excused by suggesting PC is making up the gap but you still did anyway. Consoles dominate the charts every year.

If you look at the charts of Germany, they have a few more PC retail games show up, they don't last long. No doubt PC retail is still a thing more than any other large EU country but I'd say it's very small in the grand scheme of things.
