2016 (Today):

Activision Publishing’s Call of Duty franchise revenues grew double digits year-over-year both for the full year and in Q4, ending the quarter with the highest MAUsA in franchise history. The strong performance was driven by Call of Duty: Black Ops III, which had the biggest entertainment opening weekend of 2015, and was the #1 console game globally for the calendar year.2 Call of Duty was the #1 franchise in North America for the seventh year in a row.1 Black Ops III also has the highest season pass attach rate for downloadable content in franchise history. The Call of Duty franchise has now surpassed 250 million units sold life-to-date worldwide with over $15 billion in total sales, including in-game content, since it first launched in 2003.

Terrible first post. Delivery of new content aside, Black Ops 3 is the best Call of Duty has been in years.

Eh, I'd argue it's the worst COD I've ever played. But Advanced Warfare was way better than Ghosts so I can't say I agree that it's gone downhill.

I'm currently level 51 and play 10-20 hours a week, its the highest level I've ever gotten in a call of duty game. I love the multiplayer and its been perfect for quick game sessions solo or with a friend. The gunplay, wall running, and maps have all been flawless for me. I even prestiged a weapon for the first time last weekend, that has me thinking of prestiging the classes even when I hit the max (55?) probably would wait for a double XP weekend though.

The gear-behind-crypto was a bit off putting and I hope the outburst has them rethink that kind of thing, I enjoy gear being unlocked by XP and not by RNG (Destiny).

I'm almost on max Prestige, didn't play a Cod so much since Mw2 and Cod4.

You should prestige at least once. It unlocks a plethora of new challenges. And the game does kind of push you to keep prestiging. You'll never have enough unlock tokens to unlock everything until you finish Prestige 10.
