Jump in with the cheap GMG price while you can. The following codes have been known to work. I picked up my copy for $15 using an affiliate link and stacking anothe code on top (but I think they patched this)

At first I told myself I wouldn't be using any of the boosters, but at the same time, I also thought more modern RPGs should use Bravely Default's encounter rate slider.

EDIT: What am I talking about? FFX has the No Encounters weapon ability.

Just waiting on a Tidus/Yuna/NPC face fix mod and I'm in.

Buying the game a 3rd time. PS2 (NTSC US), PS3 and finally PC. Glad I held of on the PS4 release, I just knew it was coming to steam.

Continuing from the previous thread:

The game is zoomed in for me at higher resolution, like I only see the top right half of the game.

Edit: Also it has the japanese control scheme, wtf?

Control scheme is fine here, but yeah, it seems like fullscreen doesn't work as you might expect it to on higher resolutions.

I hate Canadian internet, 1.5MB/s on steam :/

Gonna take forever to download.

Hate to rub it in but was getting 2 MB/s on wifi and then plugged in ethernet and get 50 MB/s (thank you university ethernet). Best of luck, slow internet sucks.

Maybe I can finally get the stupid sun sigil or whatever (the balloon chocobo game made me want to cry as a kid).

No encounter mode sounds amazing. I wish that was in the PS4 version when I was slogging through some areas.*

*please tell me it wasn't

I only have one question about the port: How is the frame pacing?

I'm ok with games locked at 30fps on PC, but it really bothers me how so many of them don't even bother to lock it properly.

Will be getting it this weekend. One of my favorite FFs ever.
Can anyone comment on how's the port?
I remember the PS3 version being superior to the PS4 version because of a bug with the music. Is this port based on the PS3 or PS4 version?

May has turned out to be a packed month. DLC for Fallout 4 and Xcom 2 and new games like Uncharted 4 and Doom plus Witcher 3's DLC Blood and Wine that's crept in at the end. And I'm sure I've missed some.

Treble dipped now on FFX/X-2. But I have fond memories of the game(s). And for £15.99 too.

JaseC I noticed you had a mouse cursor in the settings menu.

Can anyone confirm if the mouse is usable anywhere else in other menus (IE, the battle menu), or is it just in the PC-specific menus like the ESC menu and launcher?

That bug was patched a long time ago, ps4 version is the superior of the 2.

5 potential FFX PC modifications that would make it one of the best JRPGs:

- Ability to turn off random encounters at the player's leisure
- Option to let field music play during normal battles instead of the battle theme
- Ability to skip cutscenes
- Japanese dub with subtitles
- Option to randomize sphere grid, which would add replay value and make for some interesting playthroughs. This already exists for the emulated PS2 version.

If even just 3 of those come to fruition, it will be a huge deal. I recently played an FF7 mod that let me do the first two and it made a notable difference for my enjoyment.

edit: Hey cool didn't see No Encounter mode. Already great news.

Just curious what boosters unlock what achievements if any right away? I want to mess around with them but want to earn the achievements legit.

..unless your name is Final Fantasy IX or III.

arnt most of them 30 capped other than 5, 6, 14, & 13 saga games (although 13-2 has some sort of issue with frame pacing and capping to 30 is recommended.

ff3,4,4ay,7,8,9,10,10-2, 11, type 0 are all hardcapped 30fps.

and 4,4ay,7,8,9 have 15fps in battles.

bought it but will wait for a japanese audio with english interface/subtitles mod :(

As a side note, I can't believe FF9 and FF10 are on PC now.

Asked me a few years ago and I would have said absolutely not a hope in the world. Not one bit.
