What's Trauma Center: Second Opinion?

It's essentially a remake or 'wii-make' whichever you prefer of the DS game called Trauma Center: Under The Knife, in which you play as a Doctor called Derek Stiles through certain operations, things start normally but get weirder and harder as the game goes on.

At your disposal you have different tools that will help you in the operations, among them is the antiobic gel, forceps, ultrasounds etc... etc...

If anyone is wondering what the DS game was about:

("Caduceus: Surgical Operation") is a surgical simulation game developed for the Nintendo DS and the first in the Trauma Center Series. Well suited for the handheld's touchscreen, the user makes incisions, removes diseased areas, and sutures the patients back up. As of June 27, 2006, Atlus has confirmed that they will be relaunching the game by the end of July in the US market, due to the high demand and popularity of the game.

The player assumes the role of Derek Stiles, a young doctor who must perform surgeries and other medical operations. Derek is a descendant of the Greek god of medicine, Asclepius, and is gifted with extreme concentration, an ability referred to as the "Healing Touch."

The game takes place in Angeles Bay during the year 2018 where the majority of diseases, including AIDS and Cancer, have been eradicated. However, a mysterious disease known as GUILT (Gangliated Utrophin Immuno Latency Toxin) threatens mankind. The best weapon against G.U.I.L.T. is the "Healing Touch."

you can still get copies easily for the DS and it sold over 100K I believe.

I imagine this will be the same.
 
I will be getting this along with Monkey Ball and Metal Slug Anthology at Toys R Us on Sunday using the buy 3, get $30 off coupon on the back of my preorder ticket. :D
 
I'll probably pick this up. At the moment it's a toss up between this, Red Steel, and Rayman as my third launch title.

I'm not taking a chance, I'll own this game before I even own a Wii.

Aint that a good thing? You can hear Angie voice more often that way "Vitals droppin you newbie doctor". I'm expecting the sequal to have full voice acting with 16:9 and even better gameplay. They should start giving the preorder form with every copy of Second Opnion :D
 
Some guy on IGN Wii Boards already bought the game. So some stores (he bought it from EB) are already selling couple of Wii games, Trauma Center included (EDIT: the games sold: Trauma Center, Spongebob, Avatar, and Open Season).

Anyway, being in Europe, I gotta wait this game for a little while longer, but it definately sounds very cool.
 
I hope I can get this game on launch day, my priority right now is Zelda but I'll see what I can do

I'll have it before 2007 that's for sure.
 
I wonder if this will be Atlus's highest selling title ever. I don't recall them having anything significant at the launch of any system.

I dont even recall atlus having a launch title before, I could be wrong of course.
 
I'll be picking this up at launch. I'll post my impressions whenever I can tear away from Zelda. :)

I got it at EB. I also picked up Resistance.

The Wii and PS3 cases are both very nice. They didn't have anything else in yet, which was peculiar.

No it wasn't insanely hard. You just need to try a bit harder, throwing the stylus around couple of time, slam shut your DS, go to the gym punch some punching back and come back to try again.

BTW Error2k4 the pics in the first post all gone now.
 
I've got this on preorder, going to see if they got it in tomorrow.

I was going to get the DS version until the Wii version was announced so I'm looking forward to it.
 
Anybody know if Best Buy is going to break the street date on this game and the remotes? In another thread people were saying something about the 15th but I'm not sure anymore.

I love video game console launches. I think I'm gonna go to Wal-Mart later to see if they have any games/accessories for sale. :D

I just stopped by my GS and asked about it.

"Component cables?" He asked with a puzzled look. "What exactly do you want those for?"

I couldn't help but laugh.

Best Buy was even worse. I gave them a call and the guy replied, "You mean, you want to know if the Wii is playable here or not?"

WTF?!

I just want my damn component cables at launch. Zepking, have you had ANY word from Nintendo at all?

Trauma Center is out now according to a press release I just got.

Error: I uploaded the same pics to my server to post on GAF (my outlet doesn't cover Trauma Center) so I can rehost them. I imagine pretty much any free image host is gonna be killed by this thread.
 
Thumbs up for the thread, Error. Yup, making this my 3rd purchase, behind Zelda, Madden. Going to give Atlus my all. Can't wait. :)
