NeoGAF and 360 degree screenshots

Last few weeks i really got into the whole 360 degree photos/screenshots thing with Nvidia Ansel. It is really interesting way to show games but it is also really difficult to show them to other people. Best way is Facebook (but most of my friends there are not gamers so there is very little point for sharing them there) and there is kuula.co that i use for posting them on Twitter. Now GAF is big community full of gamers and we have two wonderful threads dedicated to screenshots. But currently there is no way to present 360 degree screenshots directly on GAF by embedding viewer in posts.

So i tried to ask around (in PC SS thread and in Steam thread) is there a way to change that. So far there are two approaches to this problem. One is with extension that would detect links from certain pages like kuula and use their embed code to somehow put viewer in posts. Other way is to add "?vr" in image link and then make extension to look for it and if it is there to load that image in Google VR View

I don't have enough knowledge to pull something like this and i don't even know if there is any interest for such things on GAF so i made this thread to hear your opinions.

To see how 360 screenshots look like you can see few of mine:

dex, how did you get ANSEL to work in Watch Dogs 2? The standard(?) Alt+F2 hotkey doesn't work for me and a post on the Nvidia forum from last week claims it's still unimplemented?

Ummm Alt+F2 worked for me :D

Also GAF member corrosivefrost created Chrome plugin for kuula screenshots so you can see them directly on GAF. As soon it's ready he or me will post it here in the thread :D

These things give me motion sickness I think. I feel dizziness and nausea. I can play 3d games without this happening to me. Strange.

Same.

This was the main reason I went to an store demo to make sure I could handle VR even though I very rarely get any sort of motion sickness.

Good news is I can.

Trying it out for WD2, nifty site

You can also post them on FB or Flickr but that needs a bit more work. For FB to recognize them you need to make 360 panoramic screen in JPG and add Camera info from one of those 360 degree cameras (i use Ricoh for maker and Theta S for model). Flickr needs custom tag (equirectangular) so it can recognize that it is 360 degree image and activate 360 degree view :D

In all cases your image needs to be 2:1 ratio.

Am I understanding right that Ansel is still limited to a title-by-title basis (with a compatible card)? I love this concept and I got super into Cardboard for a while, but last time around I found it was sort of limited.

Yes but since late last year Ansel is included in Unreal Engine so that will help. Also more and more devs are using it and there are already nice amount of games that are using it.

It just fullscreens in 2D for me :(

There is cardboard icon at the bottom and when you press on it and turn phone in landscape mode you get cardboard ready image.
