Pie and Beans
Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
So have I got this right?
The joy-cons don't have a usb charging slot and the grip bundled with the controller doesn't charge the controllers, so the only way to charge your controllers is to use the tablet? So you can't play on your tv?
And with the joy-cons being so small and including gyro's, hd rumble, accelerometers, and a nfc reader, I don't see the battery life being good.
that's utterly ludicrous.
Included grip doesn't charge. Want it to charge? Pay for the grip that does.
Here :
From the Japanese site: https://www.nintendo.co.jp/hardware/...ies/index.html
"You can use "Joy-Con (L)" and "Joy-Con (R)" as a grip type controller.
Unlike the "Joy - Con grip" that comes with the main unit set, you can also charge "Joy - Con" while using the included USB charging cable, so you do not have to worry about running out of the battery."
Nintendo's also always been good with naming and in the What's Included page on the store it only says "Joy con Grip" unlike the "Joy Con Charging Grip".
They said it in the Treehouse stream as well. (can't link because Youtube seems to have bugged out and is missing the end of the hardware review, but they clearly said there would be an accessory later on that could charge the joycons while gripped)
So, this probably deserves it's own topic. Since the Joy-Con's don't have slots to charge, and the included Grip doesn't, the only way to charge is to slot the joy-cons back into the Switch, and abandon TV play for a bit.
Unless you stump up $30 for the one that does. That they could bundle in there from the start?
Now you're playing with carefully rationed out power?
