I mean when you are coming from "i dont believe in minimum wage and I beat the shit out of my wife" there is nowhere to go but up.

I'll consider it an upgrade*. Probably should have picked him in the first place since all of the stuff about Pudzer was all known ahead of time. Would have saved Trump a bad press cycle.

*A relative upgrade... sigh...

But did he ever employ any no good undocumented brown people though. That's what's really important.

If there are negatives related to how he will handle labor issues in the US, it will come from his time at Kirkland & Ellis. But that's for journalists and Congressional staffers to find out for us.

This seems... not awful? I mean, his boss is gonna make sure that he does terrible things, nut he at least seems competent, isn't obviously corrupt, and not totally full of hate?

That last one could make his confirmation tough tho, Republicans don't like that sort of thing.

Also I find it amazing that Trump's backup pick on the one dude he was denied seems to be infinitely more qualified than his first pick... Imagine where we'd be if Republicans had denied a few of his other ones?

Trump operates out of spite. So you guys stabbed my pick in the back over foreign workers, huh? I'll show you!

he already served on the nlrb so we should be able to find exactly how he will handle labor issues

outside of being a socially conservative alito clerk, which has nothing to do with this role, he seems like a good dude. I still want to see those nlrb decisions though

He's like the Linda McMahon pick. He sucks, but he doesn't suck as much as he could possibly suck, so that makes it ok by some weird logic.

Lonestar

I joined for Erin Brockovich discussion
So, this is his weekly non-bathsalt moment, to draw us off with his regular bathsalt moments.

Distractions from the Russia ties his White House has. Don't fall for it.

I think it's more like, "excuse me for not being happy with Trump for picking somebody decent this one time while everybody else is shit".

It's good to see somebody qualified this one time, but that's about as far as my feelings go on that.

Yea. He's not horrible, but he's not good either. He's about what we'd get if Jeb or Romney had won.

Doesn't seem to have any scandals, so 'squeaky clean' is good. I'm looking up his record as a lawyer, I know he's got civil rights notches.

https://www.justice.gov/archive/opa/pr/2004/January/04_crt_042.htm

Looks like, as Asst. Attorney General,. attempted to appeal an NC court's decision to give a cross-burning racist only a month plus time served and two years of probation, 5 months house arrest

This is to say, he was prosecuting.

Looks like a good pick, perhaps. Appears to have served with distinction and by the letter of law.

Still digging. Florida's got an open records law so I could head up to the court house to maybe get more information.

Smells faintly of rancid stilton.

He served three separate president and was approved each time. It would be a bad look to drag your feet on Acosta

I missed the NRLB bit. He definitely seems...normal...but given Trump's track record I'll reserve any good feelings.

Yeah he does. Look up him and Jeffrey Epstein's underage sex scandal.
