how can people even play games while listening to music? i find it too distracting and during cutscenes it is annoying.

It was great on the OG Xbox and 360, the music would automatically fade during cut scenes and in game chit chat.

I usually don't when going through for the first time. I mostly listen to other music when I'm either grinding (Dark Souls for example) or travelling. Could never play music over cutscenes or story beats.
You ask a question but give an example that you exercise in which you contradict your own question. Basically, there are games that people would want to listen to their music to.

With the exclusivity deal ending hopefully it means Sony will add more music services to the PS4. Can't wait to use Spotify on my Xbox one though.

well i'm assuming most people play music in all sorts of different games. i can understand playing in a game with no dialogue/cutscenes but more story oriented games with music playing over people talking? that'd be distracting/annoying like i already said.

Google, actually have a way to use Play Music which isn't a phone app or web browser, surely you jest. Seriously, Google's mismanagement of Play Music is why I returned to Spotify.

It could use a little bit of work. I prefer using the PC app then connecting it to the PS4.

Yeah, it's practically unusable on its own. The app is garbage. Works well enough if you control it with your phone though.

It is? I control entirely from my phone and never had a problem, very simple and responsive.
Same here, the phone control & quick menu are all that are needed.
