"Mutant Mudds Collection" Coming to Switch (Deluxe, Super Challenge & Blocks)

Mutant Mudds was the first demo I downloaded on 3DS, its 3D hopping kind of blew my simple mind away back then, heh. Might pick this up.

I played the hell out of the original Mutant Mudds on 3DS, and replayed it on Vita when it was a PS+ title. Never played the second one, and with a third one included, I'm totally going to get this collection.

I hope this means that Chicken Wiggle will get ported to Switch before long (ideally with a different name) - it looks like a lot of fun, but I'm not going to use a level maker when many people are moving on to a newer platform.

Got the two main games on 3DS already and liked them quite a bit. Don't really think I'd go back to them though as these are just ports plus a new puzzle game (which I'm not really interested in).

Day one.

I've only played the original on the 3DS. Such a great and charming little game.

Gotta be honest on one hand, I'm super happy Switch is getting all these games, on the other these indies are ported from like 2-5 years ago and they are not priced accordingly. Not sure how to feel about all this, it's getting a little long in the tooth.

Basically saying, I can't find myself getting excited about a Braid port. To narrow down my statement

Fingers crossed it works for Jools - seems like a few misjudgements and the shift of the indie market to Switch and elsewhere have impacted on him, and a decent Mudds re-release on Switch might give a bit of breathing room.

No offense to Jools and his crew, but how many times are they going to milk that game? I think now would be a good time to work on something new.

This has to be the best part of the announcement:

Josh has attacked Jools relentlessly for no reason at all, even blocking him at one point because Jools was happy about Yooka-Laylee coming to Switch

I like Jools more now. One of the most open and honest devs in the industry.

Josh Thomas is a whiny, baby-dick bitch.

Damn. Jools just sold me a copy of his game with that reply.

Josh's unironic response was "I guess when ya con't accept criticism just say "Fuck you" to somebody." even though he blocks anyone that disagrees with him or Trump and constantly deletes his Twitter because he can't take criticism

They did...and it sold 2 copies.

I mean, speaking for myself, Chicken Wiggle looked really uninspired and unappealing. I just found the whole project charmless -- it looked like a middle of the road XBLIG game to me, which is not high praise. Now, maybe playing it would change my tune, but I feel like I kind of know what these developer's games feel like at this point.

I liked Mutant Mudds enough the first time, but I think my standards for indie platformers have changed a bit since then and I want something more than what the series is. I really liked Xeodrifter, and while it was also kind of basic and definitely cut from the same cloth, it changed enough to keep me engaged and didn't overstay its welcome.

Basically what I'm saying is I think they should diversify their settings and mechanics a bit more than they have been, especially if everything is going to continue using similar feeling engines and systems. It all comes off as feeling kind of phoned-in and samey otherwise.

Josh Thomas also compared all those indie ports on Switch it its equivalent of "shovelware"

What an asshole.

You mean Chicken Wiggle?

I didn't forget about that game. Just that he's releasing a game on the NS and it's a port of a game that he's ported to damn everything else. Even porting Chicken Wiggle would have been better as it's a newer game. Again, nothing against him or his crew, but it just seems like we always hear about the same stuff from them. I'd like to see them try something different. I don't consider Chicken Wiggle all that different from what they usually do.

Wasn't planning on buying this before but I sure as hell am now. Good show.

Mutant Mudds is a really great game. One of those few games that challenges you enough to want to come back and try that difficult part again and again instead of just making you throw the controller.

I don't know who this Josh Thomas fellow is, but he seems like a douche, and I don't care to google his name to find more info.

I might pick this collection up. I loved the first game but haven't touched the other ones.

I'll definitely miss the 3D aspect though, it was pretty amazing on the 3DS original and added a lot to the experience. Is that the case for the other 2 in the series as well?

Never played any of these games so this is gonna be awesome. I hope it does well and encourages him to port over Chicken Wiggle since it's apparently pretty fun.

lol he's mad now

Josh is the LAST person who should accuse someone of having a "mental problem." Also, Jools never encourage anyone to harass him. Also, Josh is the one who doxed a Nintendo employee to have his fans attack her

This Josh guy seems like a right prick but that actually reads as if he's saying Jools said HE had a mental problem, not that he's suggesting Jools has one?
