As much as I suck at this game, it's going to be a day 1 purchase. I'll be getting on PSN, mainly because the majority of people I know are getting it from there.

I wanted to buy it until i saw screenies. Looks ugly

Why is it HD when fighters' sprites are low rez?

I can explain this one, Capcom decided to up the resolution on the backgrounds and on the gems themselves into HD and leave the game sprites as they were in the original game. Basically it is Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 all over again.

Capcom reusing sprites? Never!

Wait... I think I can actually see the difference between the yellow and green gems... I'll be giving the trial a shot Wednesday to confirm... but if I can tell the difference, then it is on.

For someone who has a load of underplayed XBLA puzzle games already and has never played (or seen) this game before, sell me on it. (I wana understand the hype)

It's a competitive puzzle game. The objective is to stack as many of the same kind of gem into one 'power gem'. Any gems that are touching to complete a square, and are the same color, will turn into one larger gem. Any gems that are touching at all will destroy connected gems of the same color.

Gems are destroyed using colored orbs. I.E. a green orb destorys green gems.

Destorying a large chain of gems, or one large power gems, drops a fixed amount of gems on the opponent. Chaining together 'breaks' (the destroying of gems) will result in more gems falling.

Your goal is to fill up the other players screen with gems, giving him no room for other gems to fall, and as a result, you win.

Think of it as a fighting puzzle game. It's back and forth nature is awesome.

I don't want to start a war (I own all the current consoles) but I think it will be interesting seeing a downloadable game come out and the sales figures for each...

I know with the HD Remix of Super Turbo controller preference could come into play, but I think that is almost irrelevant here...

Either way it is good to know that both systems get a great game in less then 48hrs :)

Regardless of what your intent was, meaningless numbers like that always start 'wars'. IMO? Numbers are best left to children, while adults can simply bask in the glory of entertainment.

Why the hell do numbers matter? They don't. I know both consoles aren't going anywhere, and both have games I enjoy. End of story.

I think Numbers and Sales figures are stupid, and best left to investors and idiots.

This will be the first week on XBLA where I buy both games that are released.

Edit: Just read the official XBLA thread. What the fucking hell...

Wow, I didn't know this was coming to PSN. I'll definitely buy it from there.

Paying actual price >>>>>>>buying extra points

There's a difference between paying $10.00 or paying 800 points?

No, there's a difference between paying $10.00 and buying 1,000 points so I can spend 800 on a game and have 200 left over. They designed the system to make it difficult to spend all your points, so that you feel obligated to buy more in order to spend the leftover. It's irritating. Ditto for Nintendo.

PSN is pretty much the same way. I was super excited when I got my PS3 (after my Wii & 360) and saw that games were listed in actual prices (IE $10 CAD for Super Stardust HD), the disappointed when I saw that I had to buy "chunks" of money for my wallet. i'm always left with weird amounts that wind up being useless.
