Welcome to PlayStation 3's 2008 Thread. For a while now, PlayStation 3 owners have been given the cold shoulder, be it with shoddy ports of great games, lack of *exclusive* support from third-parties and/or industry doom and gloom talk. 2008, however, promises a return to form for the newest born in the PlayStation family, with incredible exclusives and vast support from third-parties. If you're interested in owning a PlayStation 3 but haven't yet found the drive to do it, this is it. And if you already own one, then be prepared to party all fucking night long, because we have a great fucking year ahead of us.
-This thread is not meant to replicate a full list of PlayStation 3 software, nor a regularly-updated game release schedule.
If you don't see your favorite game here, don't be mad: perhaps it's not as anticipated as other games competing for space in the platform. Forward to us any queries/suggestions you may have with a simple PM to either Basch or myself.
UPDATES
Update 1: Added a ton of your requests and moved the exclusives to the top for easier view. Trying to stay away from vaporware (like Jak and Daxter 4 and The Getaway) until there is more solid evidence of their existence. Hopefully it'll be to your liking.
Update 2: I will not, I repeat, will not put unannounced games here. When the inevitable Resistance 2 announcement comes coupled with official art and/or screens, I'll be sure to add it to our list. Just a clarification.
Update 3: I'm currently fixing the original post to it's original lust, but I'm borrowing a line from the official 2008 games thread for the Wii: I'm only posting *pictures* for all the exclusives, along with potentially awesome multi-plat games. Since my hosting space is limited, I'll be cutting on the "shovelware-looking" stuff...if you guys want to host those, no problem, I'll add 'em to the OP, but for now this'll have to do. Also, we're missing a banner...it'd be fucking awesome if someone could create/donate one. Thanks again for all your support.
Update 4: We're testing a different listing format proposed by our friend Basch with perhaps the most anticipated exclusive game of all, Killzone 2. Hope to read your reactions to it...I think it's quite striking, myself.
Update 5.5: Updated the introduction paragraph with details on the thread itself and a disclaimer. Resized all the pictures to 600pix-width for a more "unified" look. Also, we have a new banner thanks to PirateSean. Finally, I added a link at the bottom of the OP that leads to "The Official Wii Games of 2008 Thread", hosted by our dear friend, PantherLotus.
