My brother works for a publisher and is at the conference now, just texted me with the date. I said are you sure, he said came right outta Trenton's mouth and its gonna be bundled with a 80G.
 
Wow... Thats so soon. GTA IV and MGS4 before the summer. Summer will be awesome seen as I'll have to wait till then to get the games because of uni exams.

I want to believe... it actually would make sense considering my work is listing the game for June 17th right now. BUT HELLS YEAH IF TRUE, RIGHT BEFORE MY BIRTHDAY.

Surely Konami would be the ones announcing a release date, and isn't the 80gb dead?
 
isnt it bad date for Europe? Smack middle of Euro 2008.

Well I guess England is not there, so it might not matter :P

I don't believe that. The 80GB's are being fazed ouy as we speak. No way would any be available and if Sony are allowing these shortages of 80GB's only to start distribution back up again then Sony are retarded.

Ships Tuesday, guaranteed in stores on Thursday. I believe.

Maybe the 80GB are being held back to build up stock or maybe they're relaunching it with the 40GB motherboard (no BC) and the Dual Shock 3.
 
It's a shame that as people dare to bring us early news they get threatened with all manner of blunt banning implements.

Proper consequences for false information is one thing, but a few of you sound like you're chomping at the bit!

The 80 gig SKU was discontinued, but I think that technically an "80 gig" and an "80 gig with MGS4" would be different SKUs. Anyone who knows how the process works, feel free to correct me.

I'm still waiting for info on whether they will have any backwards compatibility in future models. I doubt it more and more every day, but I hold out hope until the news officially comes down.
