Great price, very unique and cool visual style and combat mechanics (the staff and what you can do with it) with Contra and Bionic Commando-like gameplay, 2 endings based on your choices, 2 unique upgrade paths and NG+ on launch. S! O! L! D!

This looks brilliant. Stands out from all the pixel art platformers, has interesting gameplay, and if the OST is anything like the trailer that isn't bad either.

If I didn't have too much to play already I'd get it now, but this is going high on the wishlist.

Dudes, this game is incredible

I just completed 2 lvls and the best way I can describe it is it's a mix of Contra, Bionic Commando and Earthworm Jim. It's also not 100% linear, lvls are HUGE, there's at least two paths you can take in the second lvl, there's lots of stuff to find like permanent visual upgrades (Metroid style) which'll be visible on the staff, you can also rescue (or not) soldier and get 3 types of upgrades from that as well as endings, there's also staff upgrades beyond visual attachments/upgrades to make it stronger, longer, charge faster and shit. Man, it's a meaty af game with replayability in mind. For example you can't get into certain areas to grab staff upgrades if you don't have some tech to get through etc., so there's a bit of Metroidvania stuff here too. You can go back to replay lvls if you missed something or haven't found the first time. Checkpoint system is very generous. There's also pretty cool interactive and animated preparations screen before each mission. The sound design, controls and gunplay is great too and it's just a joy to play and look at.

For the price they're asking, it's a STEAL.
