I'll get us started with my first picture from playing online with Ysiadmihi.

You don't need to convert the photos or anything. Just press 1 and take the picture and send it to your SD Card. SOOO Simple! Post away NeoGAF

Is this the PS3 version?

Also, if Nintendo finally realized that you don't have to use crazy compression and AES/RSA encryption (or whatever the crap Brawl used...I helped made a decoder and I forgot :P) for screenshots, GOOD JOB. Being able to share pictures online actually may make your game more popular, surprise surprise.

*edit* Oh, and if the pictures use bad compression and are JPGs, that sounds more like Brawl. Sigh, Nintendo.

Good to see a couple of Photos...hopefully we'll have more as time goes on. I'll post some after playing it more tonight.

Just curious. Why do you play it?

It's not an MMO right? Does it have a plot? Is it an RPG? What's the appeal?

And I don't think it's ugly.
It's very difficult to understand until you try it.

Doing a little hacking, are we? Or did you manage to make 2,000,000 bells in one day?

I was gonna say this same thing.

That picture breaks my heart and is why I'm happy that you need friend codes to visit each others towns. :/

It's a simulation game. It's like the Sims, but better.

Is it just me or does it seem like the crappy compression is only an issue if you're playing in widescreen? Seems like the 4:3 screenshots are just fine! (They look sharper)

It's a communication simulation. It's about building a community through interaction, collection, and customization.

Animal Crossing (GCN) is probably my favorite game of all time.

Even with its sameness, it breaks my heart that I now lack the hardware to play this game, because I'd already have it by now.

I've already taken 30 photos, I'm so addicted to that feature! Here are a couple...

Found one already! Nice!

Bubble Wand Action!

My Mii Mask with more Bubble Wand Action! I'm glad it actually changes your skin tone, I've been a little tired of playing as a white person since 2002 (minus the summer-time tans). :P

No Wammies, No Wammies, No Wammies - STOP! W00t, non-counterfit painting!

It was all wiggly!

It was a rock? Rock Lobster!

Community simulator? I was under the impression all you did was minigames to earn money and buy stuff? Or is there something more? I've never played one, I was wondering why this game had so much buzz.

Can anyone confirm whether or not there are playable NES games or anything like that?

That's what Virtual Console is for!

*Sigh*

I was afraid of that answer.

I have no reason to play this game now. I played the living balls out of the first GCN one, but the DS one barely kept my attention for more than a month. It seems like Nintendo's not doing anything to this "franchise" and it saddens the hell out of me. At the very least, they could make mock NES games to unlock, like the Strong Bad games sort of have.

C'mon, Nintendo. C'mon...

I find myself saying that far too often nowadays.

I picked up this game on GCN when it first released. I think I put more hours into this than my xbox, PS2 or girlfriend at the time. It was so damn addicitve and charming. I never thought I would like a game like AC. That is the reason why I haven't picked up this one yet. I just got married and don't need to be divorced in the same year.

Loved the Gamecube game but could never get into the DS one because I was still playing on the Gamecube after all those years. I think it's time to come back to AC soon. Just looking at all these pictures makes me want to go up to the store and pick it up today. I love Animal Crossing.

Trust me. It won't be nearly as glorious or captivating as it was the first time. =(

Truth.

The DS one had me addicted for three solid months, though it really lost the community aspect the GC one had with three friends. I put it down one night to take a break and never went back, whereas we played the GC one for the better part of half a year.

I haven't tried City Folk, so I don't have an actual opinion of the game, but it appears to be the classic retread-with-several-new-elements-in-to-"spice things up"-situation. I'd rather a full-on sequel, and I honestly have no room in my playtime for what seems to be practically the same game that came out originally on the N64.

This game is on DS as well? How is it compared to the GC version?

I would like to try it out on DS if it's good.

It seemed to be better than the Gamecube version but I just couldn't get into it because it was too soon.

Trust me. It won't be nearly as glorious or captivating as it was the first time. =(

This makes me sad because I have a feeling it's true. I just don't play games with many people watching and commenting anymore. We usually all play separately because of Live.

Like you, I'll still probably end up buying it, because Animal Crossing has a special place in my heart. I'm not sure if it was the engaging computer players, the need for a perfect house, or the raw cocaine injected into your blood through the GameCube controller, but the original was super fun and addictive.

Honestly, though, at least 30% of my fun was in collecting and playing the old NES games. Fuck Nintendo for taking that out. Virtual Console can eat a dick, even a few NES or even GameBoy games thrown into City Folk would have made me purchase on Day 1.

Gah.

Maybe he transfered stuff from AC:WW? I thought that would be possible.

No, you can transfer your catologue (what you can order from Tom Nook) and character design from Wild World, but nothing else (no items, bells, patterns, etc.)
