It's time for round three.

Same idea as before, but we're going to change up the rules a little bit.

In the previous swaps, we've had problems with people shipping out at different times, which leads to many swappers not getting their packages until the main swap has passed. So, this time, we will have a shipping deadline. You will have around a week to purchase the candy and ship it out from the date that I send the PM's out.

Also, this time I'm going to suggest that everyone keep a shipping receipt until their partners receive their package. That way, if some hard feelings spark up, you can simply defend yourself by posting a picture of your receipt and prove that you have shipped their package.

If you would like to participate, please include the following in your reply post:

- Your Location (Ohio, United States)
- Tips on what types of candy you would enjoy the most. (Chewy/Hard, Chocolate/Fruity)

Once you do this, you will be entered in a pool. I will match you with someone who is from a different country. The majority of GAF users seem to be from the USA, so people outside of the US will probably be matched with a user from the US just so I can make sure everyone gets a different country at least. If you absolutely do NOT want to be matched with a US swapper, then let me know and I can see what I can do, but I cannot make any promises.

When you have been matched, I will send both users a PM with all the information you need. You can then further discuss the details of the swap with your swap partner. You must decide on a price/weight target if you wish to have one.

The candy/snacks should be packaged properly. Individually wrapped or still sealed from the purchase.

Candy needs to be legitimate. Homemade candy is fine as long as it is like a specialty candy from a small business and is packaged properly.

Don't make homemade candy and put it in a ziploc bag and send it. The purpose of this swap is to get your hands on goodies that are rare or not found in your location.

I will be keeping this thread updated with a list of the registered users. If it has been a few days and your name doesn't show up on the above list PM me to make sure I got your registration!

Location: Munich, Germany
Candy: almost everything, except licorice and spicy stuff.
I like chocolate and gummy candies the most i 'd say.

edit: lol, lazy ass :D

Location: Alabama, USA
Candy: Chocolates, but I want to try anything.

Awesome, tmaynard! I'm glad to see this one start up. Funds are a little tight now, so I won't be able to be as grandiose as last time, but I still want to participate.

Unfortunately I won't participate this time... Last time I got a huge dentist bill the following months after the swap... Thanks gat for ruining my mouth! :lol

Something worth noting is the difference of candy prices around the world. I was paired with an american and found out that Danish candy was surprisingly expensive. The result was that my partner only got around half the amount of candy compared to what I got.

If I had been aware that Danish was this expensive compared to American candy I would have bought more to make the swap more fair.

So yeah it's nice to have price range but keep in mind that candy prcies varies all over the world.

Location: Stockholm, Sweden
Candy: almost everything, except licorice and spicy stuff.
I like chocolate and gummy candies the most i 'd say.

Location: Georgia, USA

Candy preference: chocolate and gummy stuff. I hate nuts in my candy, and I love local favorites, especially types of candy I couldn't get in my neck of the woods.

this is my 3rd swap :D

I'm excited

I am in a streak of bad luck. My second partner in the last swap didn't send anything and I've lost two packages already in the secret santa (containing candy, no less).

But well, count me in.

Location: Spain
Preferences: As exotic as possible, stuff not available here.

That's horrible. You're one of the more active swappers, and obviously someone took for granted that you were nice enough to send double dip. PM me the second guys username if you don't care. I wont let him register for any other swaps.

We'll weed out the bad swappers as best we can.

Screw it, changed my mind. Im in! Payday is the shipping deadline, so i can ship it out then as i will have cash! :D

Im in the UK
Preferences... anything! Although i love chocolate and sour stuff. If i get matched with someone in the US, SOUR SKITTLES PLEASE!

I am IN!

Location: Maryland, USA
Preferences: Chewy, chocolately, exotic, weird. Hard candy is a low priority. Not a big fan of sour. If I can't be paired with an overseas swapper, I would like one from a different US region, if possible.

I'll send a flat-rate box since candy and postage is pretty cheap from the US, but I'm more interested in trying new things than a pound-for-pound accounting.

Heh, Gav ^^^ was my partner last time and did a great job!

Location: Norway
Preferences: Cherry flavored stuff. soft chewy shit. plz no overly fake tasting stuff.

Location: Just outside of Chicago, IL
Candy: Anything that's not gross (chocolate covered bugs, etc). If I get someone from the western US, I want some Cactus Cooler. Oh god do I want some Cactus Cooler. But any sort of beverage. I would even pay for the shipping costs. Frostee Blue Cream Soda is the greatest thing ever, and I can't find it anywhere around me. Gummies are good. As is dark chocolate (the only chocolate worth eating)

Brobzoid rocks! He was my partner in the last swap and went above and beyond.

Count me in again.

Location: Indiana, USA
Preferences: Anything and everything. Foreign sodas would be great.

much love. I weep a little every time I pass an soda aisle that doesn't have dr. pepper vanilla :(

I recently discovered that my local Meijer has started stocking foods from around the world, and in the Scandinavian section they have the salted licorice fish. I haven't bought any yet, since I still have a couple bags of what you sent me, but I grew to like them and it's nice to know I can go there to get a fix.

Awesome idea.

I don't think I'm going to register for the swap this go 'round BUUUT:

I no longer can find Orange Airheads in Virginia's New River Valley. If you have these singles available in bulk near you, for the love of god let me know!

so you have cherry flavored dr. pepper and salted fish? ...Can I crash on your couch?

Shipping to the USA is waaaaay expensive but foreign candy is worth it, i guess. ;)

Location: Bochum, Germany
Candy: Almost everything, really. Would love foreign sodas. no licorice please

I want in!!

Location: Cailfornia, USA
Candy: Gummies, but I'll try anything, but sour or spicy candy

I was lucky enough to check out some of Zesty's Swedish stuff last time, and for the most part was really impressed, (except for the Hockey Pulver stuff, what's up with that?). I definitely want in this time around!

Location: Indiana, USA
Preferences: Open to anything, especially dark chocolates, gummies, and sodas

I just wanted to come in here and vouch for p beezy. He is a long time GAF lurker and even though the only posts he's ever made on GAF are in this thread, no one has to worry about him welching on the candy swap.

Last time I did this my receiver said he never got anything.... I don't know what the fuck happened.

Yeah, I hate to see that happen.

Baked, If you decide to participate again, I really hope you have better luck this time!

Also, the registered users list has been updated up to this point. If I somehow skipped over you, PM me and I'll get it taken care of!

Thanks! Alot of the returning users are great swappers as well.

I can personally vouch for Flock, LazyLoki, and chickensoup. All wonderful swappers. chickensoup was kind enough to send me some candy that shared my last name (Maynard's Gummies) just for organizing the swap. My family loved those.

Also, J.M. Romeo has been very helpful. He's posted pictures, videos, and has double dipped just so more people could swap. I appreciate that.

No way I'm missing out this time.

-British Columbia, Canada.
-Nothing REALLY sour and I'm not a big fan of chocolate.

Dang, the one day I'm not actively browsing GAF and I totally miss the thread I've been waiting for since the last time.

Location: Washington (State), USA
Preference: Not too picky, like to experience odd candy as long as its not too 'odd' if you know what I mean. I like chocolate (who doesn't?) as well as peanut butter. If you have any special candies that are peanut butter based, well count me in! I like sour candies as well. shoot I guess I love candy haha.

Thanks tmaynard for setting this up once again. I pestered him around christmas time about starting up the swap then, but he made a great case for waiting till now. If you need any help setting it up, let me know, otherwise I will enjoy your hard work as usual.

Oh awesome! I'm so in.

Stockholm, Sweden

I like my candy hard or chewy or maybe even hard and chewy.

Country: New Zealand
Candy: anything sugary = win. Gummy/chewy stuff is good. (Like Haribo lollies ;) ) If you want to try to send me some weird mountain dew or other sweet soft drinks... be my guest :)

Can I double swap? I put out pretty well.
I'd ideally take an American (I need caffeine in my fijucking Dew) and a Canadian, if that'd be cool.

My Location: Japan
I will send you: Anything, except sake, because I just found out that's not cool.

Candy Desired from my American: CODE RED MOUNTAIN DEW. As much as you can ship in a non-ridiculous box. Also, toothpaste. Japanese toothpaste lacks flouride.

Candy Desired from my Canadian: Starburst Jellybeans, Maynerd's Fuzzy Peaches & Cherry Blasters.

Ah man ..looks like I will miss this one due to travel etc. I can say though for whomever is interested, it is awesome go sign up and wait the delicious goodies coming to you .

Would love to do this if I could get something somewhat diabetic-friendly, but I don't imagine that's what we're going for here. :lol

Country: Australia
Preferences:: I'm happy to try anything really. :)
But if I get an American, I've always wanted to try Twinkies and Reece's Peanut Butter Cups. Oh and Pop Tarts aren't sold here in Aus anymore. :(

I am really not fussy though so send whatever you want besides black licorice.

Gah site crapped out when I was replying.

Location: Australia

Preferences: Chocolate, I love it so and also any things like Snacks like (Twinkies, Pop Tarts) that obviously won't go off in the mail would be cool.

Yep, I'll put you down as a double swap. If you change your mind be sure to let me know before the 18th!

Yeah, sadly due to the pricing of sugar free candy you'd probably end up sending your partner 10 bags and only getting 3 or 4 in return. :(

The registered users list has been updated. If your name is missing and you have signed up before this post, then PM me!

I think I want in...

Location: Georgia, USA

Preferences: anything chocolately, fruity, exoticy, snacky. No hot, spicy, bitter, though.

I can vouch for this. I let his wife borrow my Chrono Trigger cart like forever ago, and when I finally harassed her enough to get them to send it back, he semi-randomly sent me all sorts of kick ass Japanese candy in the box along with.

I wish I had more :(

Location: Dublin, Ireland
Candy: No Nuts or peanut butter stuff, anything else will do
oh the GF has requested SOUR SKITTLES

Been waiting for this thread BH is now a happy bunny

BH

Location: Florida, USA
Candy: Sour, chewy, hard, chocolates, pretty much whatever. Exotic candy would be great.:lol

Don't really like coconut or cherry filled chocolates though.

The list is updated!

Everyone up to this point should be listed in the OP. If you aren't listed, please PM me and let me know!

---

For those still on the fence, there is a little over a week left to register. Don't forget the deadline!

It's been a couple days without any activity, so I just wanted to bump the thread to give more people the chance to sign up.
