‘Resident Evil 5’ equals ‘Resident Evil 3’ as the longest serving title in the series to remain at No1 in the All Formats chart, both with 3 weeks at the top. Capcom manages to capitalize on an absence of any new releases making the All Formats Top 10 with a 2nd week of price promotion on ‘Street Fighter IV’ boosting sales by 7% and launching it to No3, up from No7. Nintendo’s ‘Professor Layton’ isn’t far behind, down from No3 to No4, suffering a 40% fall in sales, but staying ahead of THQ’s ‘WWE Legends of Wrestlemania’ which is also down 1 place, slipping from No4 to No5. ‘Wheelman’ co-published by Ubisoft and Midway misses out on an All Formats Top 10 debut, new at No11. Last year’s blockbusters ‘FIFA 09’ and ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ and even 2007’s Christmas No1 ‘Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’ are the Top 10’s star performers this week. Both ‘FIFA 09’ and Call of Duty: World at War’ are up 3 places to No’s 6 and 7 respectively, while ‘COD 4’ manages an All Formats Top 10 reappearance at No9, up from No15. The last time it made the All Formats Top 10 was back in week 23 2008. ‘Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars’ drops 2 places in its 2nd week, down to No8, while Ubisoft’s ‘Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X.’ has its wings clipped, perched precariously at No10, down from No5. There are re-entries for ‘Pro Evolution Soccer 2009’ at No22 and ‘Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3’ at No25 thanks to the release of the Wii version of PES and PS3 version of C&C.

Well thats an appalling show for Madworld. All eyes on NPD now I guess :/

At least LBP is back in I guess! (no surprise with the game being like £15 everywhere :lol )

The longer PS3 SF4 is in the top 10 I guess the slimmer chance I will ever find it for cheap. Going out hunting for it this afternoon.

WiiFit crowd should buy MadWorld. Damn.

edit- Two Wii fitness games in the chart. :lol

I remember NPD having three Wii Fitness games in the top 20.

Was MK Wii low in stock the week before? It's quite a jump up that suggests it was probably a stock issue. Wiifit appears to have a steady supply of stock.

When EA Sports Active hits you're going to see more fitness titles dominating. EA is going to be big on the Wii with Grand Slam Tennis, Tiger and EA Sports Active.

Sucks for Madworld. I'm hoping it sells steadily but that's just me hoping for that. Overkill finally dropped off too it seems, but it had a better run than any other Wii rail shooter before it in the UK, which is great.

As for PES 09... it's criminal to see the best footie game ever not rank. Seriously, ever!

Poor Madworld, but given the nature of the title and the quirky look of the game it was going to be a difficult sell (and I think it would have been on any console).

The ads were dreadful though. It was bad enough using an OTT US sports show spoof to promote the game in the UK, but there was also no indication of what kind of game it was, just a brief showreel of blurry action.

Funny how this piece of shit "Wii Fit" is sellin'

Its for the mothers not the children. If it promotes good health im for it.

ALSO, great to see RE5 lighting up the charts. Capcom have put so much into this game its a relief to see it doing so well. It validates their decision for taking the route they have and enables them to build upon this successful formula. Best game this year for me, one of the best of this generation.

Yeah, wouldn't be surprised if the government back WiiFit as vehicle for healthy living or a part of it. NHS endorsed

you mean awful controls? I kind of doubt that. I bet it would sell even better with good controls (apperantly good controls are "next gen").

So Madworld bombs and Wii Fit is number 1, again.

Fantastic, can't wait to see more of this brave new market.
There's hope. Look at GTA.

Oh, wait...

Yeah. I mean, why use the 2nd stick at all, if you can use both at the same time? Feels more confusing than RE4 sometimes.

Not surprised MadWorld dropped out.

But holy crap @ Wii Fit and Mario Kart. They just keep on going and going... and GTA DS is doing great.

Fucking shame. Retailer promotion, we need you right now.

Maybe it's just all about short supply ?

And yeah, poor Konami suffering so bad because of a poor decision :lol

FIFA did well right ?

Interesting facts :

Sega has 4 games in top 8 Wii full price charts, 1 in the Wii budget list (Samba de Amigo to be more precise, which skyrocketted).

PES Wii opens behind Mad World second week

PES 08 Wii only droped 3 places in the Wii only chart :lol

When can we start saying that Madworld would have sold better on a different platform?

Wait for The Conduit.

Honestly, I never thought that shit like Wheelman would ever outsell Madworld, it was pretty well promoted. Is the UK commercial really that terrrible? The US one is okay.

The 'pent up demand' or 'big fish, small pond' rationale for making M-rated Wii exclusives should have made for a bigger debut right? Especially with few (or no) other big releases. Sega will be lucky to see it crawl past the first UK sales award 6 months from now.

16 (14) WII My Fitness Coach (Ubisoft)

Holy shit, this "game" is actually popular, that explains it.

I was gong to buy it on a whim for my wife on saturday, I waited to look up reviews. They were positive, so I went back to buy it and the 4 copies were sold out (this was at a freaking grocery store), I finally found it again at like the 5th store I tried (once you can't find something, then you have to have it :lol )

I don't know about the rest of you but releases near the end of the month aren't good for me. I don't get paid til tomorrow... so thats when I pick up Mad World :D

I had no issue with the controls.

Holy Shit - a PSP Game in UK Top 40 :o :o :O

The Clover Curse.

It lives on.

I never thought of posting it but the first thing that came to mind was that. I know I would've bought it on an HD platform. I wish their games to sell as much as possible so we see as much of them as possible.
