Platform Specifics

Xbox 360 – Multiplayer has a similar setup to CoD4. Party system with up to 18 players, matchmaking based on TrueSkill ranking, voice chat, etc. Xbox Live will take care of everything in terms of invites, muting, etc.
- The 360 will receive the first two map packs, which are timed exclusives.
Xbox 360 Achievement List

PlayStation 3 – Also similar setup to CoD4 on PS3. Party system with up to 18 players, matchmaking based on IW’s own ranking setup, voice chat, etc. Inviting players now opens up your XMB friends list, unlike CoD4 which only showed who was online in-game.
PS3 Trophy List

Windows PC – IW has ditched server browsing, dedicated server support, and mod support seen in all the past CoD titles. It will be replaced by IW’s own system named IWNET which will bring matchmaking, party system, and private match setup from the console versions to the PC side. The PC version will have full support for SteamWorks, which includes things like VAC for anti-cheat support, automatic patching and updating, Steam achievements, Steam Cloud, etc. The retail version will be tied to your Steam account.

Cant wait for this shit, preordered @ amazon with release date delivery :D

I'm caught in hype, I don't even particularly care for the Modern Warfare franchise but the amazon $20 credit for preordering with them is too good to pass, I can break even quite easily if I absolutely hate it :p

Ughh... Seriously, for those of you who think 2009 was mediocre? :lol :lol :lol

Bought two XBLA games and a niche flight simulator thus far.

Compared to 2008 and especially 2007, yep, this has been an incredibly slow year. Anecdotally, the friends I speak with on the subject universally agree.

how many gamecube games would it take to get enough store credit to buy this? i have zelda collector's edition and twin snakes.

Really looking forward to this. I'm kind of bummed that Spec-Ops is only 2 players though, I thought it was 4 players up until yesterday :(

Turok's co-op is 4 players! Buy a copy on 360 and I'll play with you.

At the rate Gamestop gives credit? I would say the entire GameCube library. I would recommend using the Bay or even Goozex if you are patient.

You already did a pretty good job of that:lol

Even though I agree with 2009 being underwhelming

Fucking sigh.
You know, Why is it so hard to make it open, and not invite only. The invite only stuff really kills it off after a month outside of the same groups of people.

Is there anything I could have said that would have got you to derail the thread? :D

Look who's adding to the fire!

Though really, it was a fair comment on MW2, right? Not my fault if some people become enraged over another's opinion on videogames.

I've seen someone play through the whole single player campaign and all I can tell you is that it is amazing and is a lot better than COD4's campaign, which was already very good.

So I take it you don't own a ps3? so you can't say it was a mediocre year for games in general, right?:/

EDIT: nm, no need to discuss this here, ignore above.

I don't buy games based on hype alone.

You know there are tons of live streams and videos and whatnot that would let you see a lot of the multiplayer and such and pretty much decide for yourself if you want it. A lot more usefulthan the reviews these days, to me at least.
