That's over 300 games possibly available for launch from day 1, including titles like Duke Nukem 3D, Sensible World of Soccer, Doom, Golden Axe, Sonic the Hedgehog, and many more.

Microsoft has already confirmed that developers will be able to use the same XNA coding language to port between the Xbox 360, Windows Phone 7 and PC titles, however it hasn't to our knowledge confirmed that it will be so easy until now.

Continue .....

This is AMAZING!!!!!!!

Gpu DX 9 in all Windows phone 7 device.

-------------
Update

Some of the things he discussed include :

At launch you will not be able to pause a game on the phone and continue it on the Xbox or vice versa. ( so this might come in the future ? )
Microtransactions (the ability to buy more levels within a game a.k.a InApp Purchase) will not exist at launch
Save state will work across all apps and games on WP7, so if you switch to email or get a call you’ll get a grayed out screen and the game is paused in the background
There will be a large number of titles at launch ( so it wont be a ghost-town in the Marketplace at launch )
No Kinect at Launch
You will not need xBox live for all games
xBox Live games will add to your Gamer-Score
CellPhone data / WiFi required for multiplayer games. NO Bluetooth multiplayer games
He kinda had this wicked smile while talking about HALO.. so I guess Master Chief will make his way on to the little screen

Wow, this is probably the most misleading title/OP combination I've seen in years.

Edit: I don't even know if I'm going to keep the thread open, the OP is really really awful and doesn't reflect the article at all.

I might snap up a Win7 phone if they don't suck. I've been using a Nokia 6120 Classic for over 2 years now. :lol

hundreds of titles doesn't mean hundreds of good titles. See the itunes store for an example. That, and how will you control these games? I don't see any buttons on the pictured device. Maybe other handsets will have buttons, but without standardized controls, a lot of these games will vary in terms of playability from device to device.

You're surprised by this? I always come into a dovella thread expecting a certain level of either "crazy" or "delusion". :lol

The "300" quote in the original title and in the section of the quoted article is implying that 100% of XBLA games could be ported and using the title count from XBLA. Of course, that's not at all what Microsoft confirmed and doesn't reflect reality at all.

Totally embarrassing.

"Possibly" and not necessarily all XBLA if it's phrased right.

In fact most won't be, because very few XBLA titles are written in XNA and of those very few, even fewer could be effectively ported to WP7.

this Christmas, will be available 40 devices WP7 (Lg, Samsung etc.)

Hardware is Standard, perfromance will be the same for each device

Oh god, i see it now. I didn't quite read to OP hard enough.

Also, DX9 hardware doesn't mean that the phone is as powerful as a 360 OP... I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing more Sonic the Hedgehog, and less Shadow Complex on these devices.

Not your fault. Both the title and OP were outrageous and I'm hoping that dovella has the sense to edit the OP to make it reflect reality.

Excuse me,
No xbox360 Game , ONLY X360 Live Arcade !!! Is different ;)

And it is not like the entire XBLA library will be available. It is just a possibility. But it would still require re-doing the controls, UI and so on to make it workable on the small screen. And some games on XBLA just won't work well on a phone.

Not particularly. Those games use the 360's power too, only in different ways. Do you really think that something like, say, Snoopy Flying Ace, could be "ported" to a Win7 phone? That's just crazy. Something like DN3D, or any other older games, may be ported with relative ease, as i'm sure that they're far less intensive on the hardware.

Wait, W7M doesn't have buttons? Ugh, I was excited for it too

Manufactures are allowed to add a keyboard if they so like. But it is not a part of the requirements from Microsoft in order to produce a Win7 phone.

So is the thread title accurate?

The current thread title is accurate. The original thread title "300 titles Xbox360 Live Arcade in Windows Phone 7 ? AWESOME!!!!!!" was not. The OP is not accurate because it has an out of context quote of an article that, even if posted in its entirety, didn't actually understand what it was covering.

The code base is the same, XNA, so in theory developers could port their XBLA game to Windows Phone 7. But they would still have to make it work on the phone (touchscreen and all), and the base specs of the WP7 hardware line. So it's not hitting a magic "port to phone" button.

Pocket Lint is run by Kotaku staff confirmed.

I wonder if Windows 7 phones will sell... at all...

Microsoft is going to have to push the marketing beyond anything we have seen in that field before. They are going into a field already filled with Android and iOS devices. It will be an uphill battle, but at least this time they have a very pretty UI. But I doubt they can take any real marketplace with this.

I'm just wondering if Microsoft is serious about gaming on the phone, if they are going to force any big, exclusive, XBLA games to also work on their phones.

I hope they sell well just to give apple's iphone some good competition android phones are not playing a big enough part to rock anyones boat right now and then you get some people like nokia using their own systems and apps, rather closed.

I have too much invested in iOS or Android now to even think about Windows Mobile 7. And the OP is expecting a likely PowerVR or Tegra chipset to play every XBLA title to date, with no code changes?

Oh wait...this is dovella.

I have a feeling if they restrict it like they did with ZuneHD, its going to flop hard.

Didn't Nokia spend a lot of time developing their next OS? Why would they launch WM7 devices? just asking.
Yep, they already have two OSes, they will be pushing MeeGoo in their high end devices next year.
I could see Samsung making WM7 phones, but Nokia? Not before hell freezes over :lol
