This could be an all-timer year for Video Games!

We've already had Crimson Desert, 007 Firstlight, Forza Horizon 6, Mario Tennis Aces, Resi Evil Requiem, Pragmata, we've still got GTA6, MW4, Wolverine to come plus loads of unnanounced stuff, I haven't had this many games wishlisted for day 1 this entire gen, that's without annual sports releases like WWE/NBA2K/Madden/FC/NHL etc, and then things like the Rayman Legends remake, Toy Story collection, Scott Pilgrim EX, the PS5 Pro update for Cyberpunk, it's a crazy crazy year!

Battlefield 6 has been a big one for me too.
Its been a decent year so far- even though im playing less games, im stuck on individual ones longer.

Personally interested in like zero of the games OP listed, so I guess to each their own. Glad you're enjoying yourself.

Strong first half, several solid 8/10 AAA games. Hoping GTA sticks the landing and it'll def be one of the best of the PS5 gen

Sure if you want to go by ratings, but if you've played the games, there's been some seriously great stuff, and stuff for everybody I think, the only thing missing is a World Cup tie in game, it's a travesty!

Its definitely outshone previous years by a large margin.

Usually this time each year people are gushing and its like one game and mostly junk

But this year so far we've genuinely had some winners. And mostly Capcom too haha

Have 100+ hours in Crimson Desert and just platinumed James Bond, def with you that it's been good!

Both this year and last year rank pretty highly for me. Almost all the games I'd been anticipating have come out since 2025, wheres the previous 5 years of this gen were pretty disappointing. Best of all nearly all of them delivered.

Did you think this a fishing forum? that covers pretty much every genre of games, how are you not interested in any of it?
This isn't NeoFISH? Fuck.

I'm not a fan of sports or racing games, that covers Forza and Mario Tennis, as well as WWE/NBA2K/Madden/FC/NHL. I can't play FPS games (they make me motion sick) so that covers MW4.

I'm usually a fan of third person action games which seems to be the rest of your list: GTA6 (overhyped), Wolverine (ugly characters), Pragmata (creepy child), Crimson Desert (too bloated), Resident Evil (skipped 7 and 8 because of above-mentioned first person issues), and 007 (not a huge fan of fail-able stealth gameplay).

I have zero nostalgia for Toy Story (hated the movies, never played the games) same with Scott Pilgrim. Rayman Legends remake feels completely unnecessary.

That being said, there are quite a few games that have released so far this year and others I'm looking forward to that I do enjoy and anticipate enjoying. Vampire Crawlers is amazing. Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is a fun take on a classic. Voyager: Across the Unknown is janky but fun. The latest Ball x Pit update has been great.

Several games have released lately that I haven't had the opportunity to play yet, but I'm hyped for: Mina the Hollower, Monster Hunter Stories 3, and Life is Strange Reunion are all at the top of my backlog.

I'm definitely looking forward to The Adventures of Elliot, Star Fox, that Splatoon roguelike, and hopefully Final Fantasy 7 part 3 this year. Maybe more stuff we'll find out about soon!

The only new game I've played this year has been Crimson Desert. Very cool game indeed but aside from that, meh year when it comes to AAA games.

So far it's good, I don't know about all-timer though. The last all-timer level year I can remember was 2017, MAYBE 2020. Maybe if GTA6 lives up to the hype and everything else announced knocks it out of the park as well.

Off topic but I've been playing this and I'm not sure that's correct. Every time I've "failed" stealth I've just been able to beat the guys up or start shooting them and everything is cool.
Interesting, I might have to look into this deeper then as I assumed this would be like Hitman which I hated.

Starfox 64 Remake on Switch 2 very soon
Ocarina of Time Remake
Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave

It's been a good year. With Pragmata, Bond, RE9, and quite a few other bangers so far.

Yeah the Hitman'y stuff is more in these big open environments with lots of NPCs, you have to wander around and do some spy stuff to advance to the pew-pew parts. It'll be like "Find a way in to the building" and there will be a few different ways you can approach it. I had to steal a key from a girl by drugging her first and giving her the shits, in another spot I shot a laser into a goon's eyes to blind him for a bit so I could saunter past. It's fun, it really feels like a 'James Bond' game instead of just an FPS / action game with a James Bond skin like all the other games in the franchise.

It's not even as good as a "second tier" year like 2000. Which IMHO is behind 98, 2001 and 2005. Just in 2000 we had FFIX, Vagrant Story, Perfect Dark, Baldur's 2, Diablo 2, THPS2, MvsC2, Mojora's, Pokémon, etc.

And guess what? We ain't going to see good years like the late 90's yearly 2000's anymore because of increasingly longer development cycles

I'm getting older too, but I think this year's looking pretty awesome for games :pie_open_mouth: , my list of stuff I'm looking forward to is ginormous. Maybe not the best year EVER, but really good :]
I forgot how many games are still coming out this year :pie_open_mouth:.

eBaseball PRO SPIRIT: Professional Baseball Spirits 2026
Witchbrook
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Beast of Reincarnation
Kena: Scars of Kosmora
Star Wars: Galactic Racer
Magical Craft: My Enchanted Dress Shop
Showa American Story
Professor Layton and the New World of Steam
Rhythm Heaven Groove
Stranger Than Heaven

Need to see more of these:
Brigandine Abyss
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement
NIVALIS

Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan! english fan-patch almost definitely coming out this year, too.
HYPERFUNK apparently had a demo at TGS but no offficial release date for that yet. Also no official release dates for Tanuki: Pon's Summer or B-17 Flying Fortress The Bloody 100th but I'll be keeping an eye on those.
Kingdom Hearts 4 at some point, new Jet Set Radio, Medieval III Total War, Dragon Quest XII

Realstically no way I'm gonna be able to play all these games this year but between that and already released Death Stranding 2, Romeo is a Dead Man, Pokopia, Zero Parades, Magical Princess, and eventually Resident Evil 9 and Pragmata this is gonna be a hell of a year for games :]
