How's this year for gaming so far, for you?

Great so far. Resi Evil 9 done and now knee deep into Crimson Desert. Not to mention the PSSR 2 update that has opened up a mountain of a backlog.

With the Flight Sim 24 VR mode and Cyberpunk Pro update just around the corner, I'll be drowning in the good stuff.

I've added so many games to my backlog. After the performance boost on Switch 2 in handheld, I'm finally going to finish Deadly Premonition 2.

KCD2 and Mewgenics. Mewgenics I think will be my lock for GOTY. I don't see anything coming close to beating in. I haven't had this much fun since Neon White.

Still trying to catch up. DQ7, Yakuza 3 kiwami, RE9, Pokopia and Crimson desert. Also dicking around with PCSX2. Need for speed underground has awesome patches. Played The Bouncer as well. Interesting game from early PS2 days.

Pretty good so far. Metroid Prime 4 was disappointing, but Jusant was a welcome surprise and finishing Silksong brought relief. Been playing a lot of Person 3 Reload and enjoying it. We don't know a lot about the rest of the year yet but I'm excited for some games that I probably won't end up playing until much later.

fucking great, one of the best year in gaming in long time, started with Reanimal, Re9, Crimson Desert, I cant wait for the new James Bond, Mouse for PI looks interesting, Samson, He-Man, Replaced, Pragmata

Great year so far.
Dragon Quest 7, Nioh 3, RE 9, Crimson Desert just in the first 3 months.

Really hoping the new 007 is good.
And if GTA 6 actually comes out I think 2026 will be the best year since 2022.

So far this year I've beaten Jade Empire: Special Edition on PC, and am a good ways into Risen 2: Gold Edition on PC, and am going to start Armored Core 3 PS2 soon on the side.

I took the free month of Game Pass and forgot to cancel it. Now I'm playing their fantastic catalogue of games as an addition to purchased stuff...installed Crunchyroll app on Series X and watching anime on 85 inch screen. Acedentally purchased NFS HP R and now Burnout is back in my life. Didn't know Criterion made something like this. Tested out Silksong because of GP and it's such a masterpiece. Doom the Dark Ages, exploring everything in the game for me it's even better than Eternal.
You?

This seems more like a marketing thread than anything else

Next to nothing for me this year so far. I've only played the WoW: Midnight expansion. I was planning on playing Crimson Desert but I will wait for a few patches.

Going great, and looks even better.

Crimson Desert: it's what I wanted the game to be. Is it a 10/10 masterpiece, no, but I'm happy to say that I think Pearl Abyss and other South Korean devs are branching out from MP games and Souls clones for their single player offerings.

Just bought a bunch of indie/AA games on Steam so that should keep me busy for a good while plus new ones coming out later this year

Upcoming AAA games I'm looking forward to provided they come out this year:
  • Pragmata
  • Tides of Annihilation
  • Onimusha
  • Phantom Blade Zero
  • Beast of Reincarnation
  • Ananta
  • Vindictus

2026 has been nice so far, mostly been playing through my backlog, with games like Dredge being a standout, and finishing my time with Metaphor Refantazio. Recently felt like going back to the older Tom Clancy tactical shooters, playing the PC campaigns of Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 1...really miss these kind of games, and sucks all Ubi does with them is their joke skinned Siege GAAS garbage.

I did pick up a few newer games this year, including Monster Hunter Stories 1-2 & Dome Keeper that I'll get to. Some multiplayer games I picked up were finally getting around to Helldivers 2, even playing with BeardSpike BeardSpike & BennyBlanco BennyBlanco , and I get why the game blew up. Super fun orbital strike moves, backpack abilities, power weapons, and just the friendly fire is great.

Think my favorite though so far has been No Rest for the Wicked Together. After just feeling bored towards Diablo 4 being such an iterative game devoid of early challenge, I really like the approach of Moon Studios. Combat feels fantastic and weighty, the level design way more involved and vertical for something in an isometric perspective is refreshing, and love feeling how distinct weapons are. Have a feeling the game is gonna be great when it hits v1.

Business as usual, playing a mixture of new and old on my Switch 2. Right now, Mario Tennis, Pokemon Pokopia, war rooms in Advance Wars. Thinking of replaying one of my favorite open world games while I wait for news of what Monolith Soft is working on.

Incredible.

- January, I loved playing through The Alters and DREDGE
-
February, Very cool games alert! RE9, Mewgenics and Metal Eden
- March Early, more RE9 runs, Crew Motorfest and Kingdom Rush
- March Late, (Spring Sale), right now addicted to Witchfire, Forza Horizon 5 and Enshrouded.

Seriously, Witchfire and Forza Horizon 5 are just incredible and I think the key difference that makes a " good" game to something incredibly special is sound design, optimization and attention to detail.

Just go and try the shotgun from Witchfire or just about any weapon, deliciously crunchy and feel so so good. I love this game, Witchfire is easily, easily one of my favorites now. Punchy guns, dripping with atmosphere, haunting melodies, responsive controls and that sweet roguelite extraction progression. There's just something about this game that feels right, you keep going again and smiling.

Forza Horizon 5 on the other hand is just a perfectly crafted ~MMO like car collector and photo mode simulator. Every car feels different, sounds different. Massive distances, vistas and beautiful light blending with a very optimized engine that gives you a really sharp image quality using DLAA and runs like butter. Just an incredible product and probably one of the best games Xbox has released.

Just an insane start and loving it! Amazing games all year baaaabbbby!

Not so great. I buy and purchase tons of video games but I'm not highly motivated to play and appreciate the art form.

Only beat doom dark ages this year and I'm just chilling with Mario kart world for now probably going to decide my next game to play in April in a few weeks. I'm looking at spider man 2, but I never beat rdr2 and I've been itching to restart and beat that.

Weird year for me so far. I haven't played many new games. I got my first gaming PC since about 1998, and I've been playing lots of older titles (~10-15 yrs old) and Steam games I accumulated during big sales in anticipation of my eventual return to PC gaming. My next new game will be Resident Evil 9 (when it gets cheaper) and for the first time I'm not even considering getting it on PlayStation. Tonight I've been playing Duke Nukem 3D. Good times.

Been really good with Resident Evil Requiem and more to come with Tides of Annihilation, Dawn of War 4, Granblue Fantasy Relink. So even if GTA VI doesn't come I'll still be extremely well off.

Expensive. Got really into retro gaming and replaced my PS5 with a Pro. Bought too many games during the end of year sales but have been mostly enjoying them. Indiana Jones, Robocop and Resident Evil Requium were all great.

Why? What are you trying to sell?

For real though,
I just finished Tainted Grail. I highly recommend, excellent game for AA.
4 days later, started Crimson Desert and I'm enjoying it. This will be a slow burn game for me.
Put 1-2 hours into Zelda Echoes of Wisdom in handheld mode on the Switch 2.

All the games I got on sale or discount so I'm satisfied for the moment.

Going great so far.

As I don't buy games day one any more, I'm catching up with all the stuff I missed out on last year, so I'm just playing banger after banger!
