Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst
What is Phantasy Star Blue Burst?
PSO Blue Burst is the PC release of PSO that includes the original episode I, episode II that released with the cube and xbox versions of the game, and an all new episode found just in this version which is episode IV. Sega has given away the client for free, but originally you had to still pay for a hunter's license. It's based off of the xbox version, and only as a windows client as far as I know.
Isn't this game old?
Yes the game is rather old, but thankfully with the client being free when Sega shut down the servers for good the community had a good client to download and modify. Sure the game still looks old and such, but hey the key is in the next step!
Are the servers still up?
The official servers died a long time ago. Hell most of the PSU servers are already down as well. That being said the key is we had a client to work with. Now there is a one stop shop unofficial server that is still keeping things going, and it's free.
So if I want to play this what do I have to do?
Head on over to schtserv which is the private server that is keeping things going for the PSO community. It's been up for years now, and is a fun stable playing environment for all!
Where can I find the download for the game?
This CAN be confusing browsing the site, and the initial thread you'd hit if you find a link on the site. Instead I'll point you directly...

This game isn't working for me on Vista/Win 7!
Like alot of things that have this issue it can easily be fixed by just right clicking and hit run as admin. Then boom all of your problems go away!
So what else do I need to do and is this really free??!!?!!?!
Yes it's free though the server takes donations to help things you know stay open. Beyond that you just need an account from schtserv! Just click the register tab at the top and then click on the first big button that says register. Beyond that it's all I can tell ya. It's up to whoever is running the site and the registration process to get back to you. I can't tell ya how long it could take.
What control methods are supported?
The game supports USB controllers in conjunction with your current mouse and keyboard. So you get the best of all words. Grab yourself something like a 360 controller and boom your good to go! You have a contoller for the game and you have a keyboard to help with menu stuff and chatting with your friends!
What are the drops like on this server?
Well have no fear we have a link with the drop chart for the Schthack server! Head on over to THIS PAGE, and read up on finding your loots and shit!
