oh fuck yes. i hoped it would get a long form review.

now i just need to make myself a pot of tea for my evening entertainment.

Very good review. Plinkett is a good reviewer. Star Trek was my favorite movie last year but I totally understand the criticisms with it and he does a good job of articulating them in an entertaining and not-obnoxious way.

I definitely enjoy this guy's Star Wars reviews more than the movie prequels themselves.

Woah, so are you guys saying this HOUR LONG review of Episode 1 is worth watching?

Over and hour, and very much yes. It's a very funny review that very expertly picks apart episode 1 for why its a bad movie without going into fanboy rants. The only hard part about it is getting past the voice the guy uses but after a few minutes I didn't care about it.

As a side note, the whole thing can be watched in 1 part on the red letter media web site. If the length bugs you, the Youtube version is split into 7 parts and was very well edited into those 7 parts. It doesn't just abruptly stop and start in the next part. So you can watch it at your leisure.

This is the best review he has done.

Which is impressive because I thought he could never be able to do a positive review, and he nailed it.

It was also incredibly brilliant and hilarious.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR HAIR? :lol

Loved the brief talk about Star Trek vs Star Wars tech. Already posted in the Star Trek Vs. Star Wars thread.

One thing I didn't like was him talking about DS9 and Dominion ruining Trek Battles. He made the similar argument about Light Sabers in his Star Wars reviews and for that it made sense. Star Trek hinted at large battles several times but just never showed (had the budget) to do them. It wasn't a mystical thing like the same argument did on Light Sabers.

I agree with most of his points (The Motion Picture is a great Star Trek movie!). It's really strange how the plot of the new Trek movie didn't make any sense, but the movie still was enjoyable...

I wonder why he called out a police officer from my home town? It was so random.

It's implied he knows the guy.

A movie can be good without a good story.

Heck, My Neighbor Totoro was a movie where nothing happened, and it's one of the greatest animated films ever made.

I hated that thing in DS9. They had Galaxy class star ships exploding left and right, and the space battle scenes didn't really have any drama or tension. Voyager was even worse, with USS Voyager destroying Borg cubes easily, and having more problems with random alien of the week.

Would also disagree with him about thing normal people know about Star Trek. While I would agree with most his list, are Tribbles really that well known? They've appeared twice in all of Star Trek (3 time if you include the 2009 cameo, which he never mentioned).

It won't play for me, I just get that little spinning circle in the center of the screen. I wonder if it's because the site is getting hammered, or is it my crappy DSL? I checked his Youtube page but it's not up there yet.

I have never seen anything Star Trek about Tribbles, but I still know what they are.

I have a friend who knows who Darth Vader is, what his theme music is, and that he is Luke's father, but has never seen any of the movies.

pretty boring...yet informing review i guess
much more entertaining when he reviews bad movies

I found it just as entertaining, if not more, than the Episode 1 review.

Just finished watching.
Very funny review and I agree with his points, although the plot-holes and the fucking "lens flares everywhere" made the movie really less enjoyable on a second viewing.

Didn´t know about this site, now to the Episode I review.

I love that you can star the movie, go get your tires changed, get a haircut, come home, and not miss a thing.
:lol
OH MY GOD!! What´s wrong with your hair!
This one really caught me! :lol :lol

nvm, it doesn't play in Firefox, but IE is fine. I probably need to update some plugins or whatever.

If you're watching the Ep 1 review you'll soon get the joke even more.

Great review, just as entertaining as his others. Disagree about the dominion war thing though. Those battles were some of my favorite trek moments ever.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF..........AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everytime he showed or mentioned them it was played for laughs, so I took that as a joke item in a half joke half serious list.

I've never heard of the things before.

Great review. I loved the new Star Trek.

"JJ Abrams should have directed the sequels, and George Lucas should have been directing people to their seats in the theater." *Rimshot*

I chuckled at that as well, especially George's outfit.

Three guys, one saucer. :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

For the tripod of Kirk, Spock, and Bones.

No wonder Chris Pine had that shit eating grin.

I literally lol'd at that one. The picture of lucas in the uniform was just too hilarious.

Am I the only one who is unable to see anything else in that Star Trek poster than an alien getting suffocated by a giant piece of plastic while holding a toilet paper roll?
