one I was considering for the assignment thread but it seemed too "noisy" lol.

Late for the Q3 thread, but I just wanted to share these photos of a big ass dragonfly i took.

It crawled out of our pond, climbed up a lantern pole and got rid of it's larva form.

It then just chilled in the sun for a while, drying it's wings and getting ready for takeoff.

Here's the skin of it's old larva form.

@BlueTsunami, Captive: Thanks for the kind words on the previous Q's thread

Also, I see your dragonfly, and I counter with ladybugs.

By the way: Church photography, is it too easy or is it ok to like it?

More to come later this week.

New Quarter, new photos!

* Stitched Panorama. Composed of 8 frames.

Interesting light today, sort of that mixture of clouds and sunlight where its not overcast but the individual clouds adds a nice bit of diffusion. In the photo with the American Flag there was a sunburst that illuminated the far side of the reservoir. Was fantastic to witness in real time since it was sort of grey a minute earlier. Also the same shot was taken from an old game trail that was hidden alongside a stream so I'm sure that particular viewpoint isn't visited as often.

@sneaky77: Dig the sense of motion you've captured, also reminds me that I really need a wide(r) focal length lens than I have currently (preferably 28mm).

@hEist: Your photos with moving and falling things always have a great feel to them. Frozen in time and all that. Makes a case for capturing more dynamic scenes instead of sticking to still photography.

Pics from Paris Motorshow: only the new lambo because the pics really stand out from the rest I took this day:

Love that Paris skyline one UnluckyKate!

In a very simple manner I'd never considered b&w for Autumn but I think this works. My dog enjoying himself immensely (hope the pic isn't too big).

EDIT: Wasn't taken by me - a friend of a friend.

Those Paris Motorshow photos are straight sex, UnluckyKate. Especially the close up abstract shots of the body.

God damn look at lines on that lambo. Great shots everyone; you have inspired me to seriously save up for a nice ass camera+lens.

Been on vacation i missed the link for the new Q4 thread, posted this in the old thread. Gotta catch up on what everyone's been doing, on first glance it looks like some good stuff.

This windmill is on the road to Brazos Bend State Park. I had envisioned this windmill during a sunrise, it feels so good to have an idea for a shot and then go execute it. It also feels good when mother nature cooperates.

UnluckyKate, beautiful Lambo shots!

aidan, looove the rich saturated colors you get.

Here's a bunch from a recent hike along the Big Gunpowder River in Maryland, I got my assignment shot here as well!

Finally catching up on all the shots here and all my own shots.

@f3niks - great emotion in those shots. You obviously know what your doing around a football game and a camera. Do you do it professionally?

@lucky forward - looks like a beautiful area and you captured it well. Looks like Bear had a great time too.

@maiar_m - man a lot of your shots have a haunting/dark tone to them. Very nice. I especially like the second shot with the trail and the trees.

@brerwolfe - I didn't even know Leeann Rimes was still around. nice concert shots none the less.

@aidan - great fall colors.

I live in Texas, we don't get much fall here. What to do? Go somewhere fall occurs of course!

Random shots from my gf and I's trip to upstate New York. All shots are EP2 + 12-60, click to embiggen. As always more at my flickr.

Watkins Glen State Park

Great shit captive, very natural but vibrant colors, which to me is probably the best way to present a photograph. I haven't been to Watkins Glen in years, gonna have to go again soon. If you're ever in upstate NY again consider going to Letchworth State Park, the gorge trails are pretty incredible. I'm going there this weekend, maybe a couple times!

Here's one pic I have of one of the four large waterfalls there.

Thanks a lot. We were there to visit my gf's mom so we'll definitely be back, it was quite beautiful. Taking off on the way back you could see orange, yellows and reds for miles.

the Goo Goo Dolls from a private corporate concert thursday night. i was mostly shooting video, but i switched my 7D over to stills to take a couple pics that i thought i'd like.

@hEist: you're doing good for someone who's out of ideas

@brerwolfe: I like the fourth shot, I don't like the Goo Goo Dolls :p

@captive: Yes, I'm trying to stick to the atmosphere I know the most. Your Apple Orchard/farmers market shorts are really great, so is the B&W fall picture.

@f3niks: Selective desaturation works for me, and I'm not a bug fan of sports photography, so kudos.

@LuckyForward: I like the fourth one, I think it's the best in the lot.

I'm really happy with this one, it was the first time I got to use a tripod and put a little technique into photography.

yeah, i don't know much about the Goo Goo Dolls past 1997. they weren't bad. i think my only disappointment was that they seemed to play "radio songs," meaning, they didn't venture past what you would hear off of their album.

no cool little drum or guitar solos, nothing imaginative or experimental, no added lyrics or anything special. put your goo goo dolls playlist on "shuffle," plug it into a receiver and set the audio dial to "concert hall" and you have your own personalized goo goo dolls experience.

Nah. I started shooting my nephew's HS and AAU games just to work on my photo skills and build my portfolio. I would like to at some point though. It's nice to get paid doing things that you enjoy. :D

Also, those Orchard shots scream Fall to me. Great stuff.
