Never had the chance to try one. Are the NeoGeo pads any good?

I have to have two. They'll make the perfect accompaniment to my USB Saturn pads.

I can't remember what the pads are like, I sold my Neo-Geo CD in 2003 because I'm an idiot. I don't remember ever having a problem with the pads though.

Best "d-pad" ever in my opinion. So freakin' precise. $37 is a little pricey for a non analog pad these days, but it will be perfect for PC fighting games/emu's (yes, for games which I have original copies).

It's a really nice pad. I have one for my Neo Geo along with the full-size joystick. I always prefer the joystick over it, though, when playing fighting games.

For those with the experience, is it just like the NeoGeo Pocket Color pad? Looks like it. That was a great D-Pad!

Release it in the states for 360, pack in a DLC code for 2002UM or something, and watch them make ACTUAL MONEY! :lol

Would be nice if it was a sign for Worldwide PSN users too.

If Carpe Fulgur actual gets to bring out as many Japanese Doujin games in 2011 as they plan to, I could easily see getting one of these for PC gaming...

Nice, I tried for a while to get a PS2 one, but they always went for much more than I was willing to pay. Looking forward to these.

Play-Asia has them listed already. Limited Availability. Also limited to one per customer. :lol

that pad is just AWESOME. However i find neogeo pocket one to be more precise, because it has smaller deadzones.

Holy shit, I wonder how good this will be for SSFIV/Blazblue/Tekken/MVC2/MVC3?

If it's better for fighters than the regular DS3 and Madcatz Fightpads (which are what I currently use to play fighting games on PS3), I'm ready to buy one.

It's far more fun to hold this controller than the Saturn pad. The clicky sounds the miniature stick makes puts it over-the-top, and the material they use for the shell and buttons is top-class.

Cool, I really liked the NGPC stick.

I got some Hori PS3 Fight Commanders already, but I might get one of these.

Edit: ^ Oh, it makes clicky sounds too?! :D

I just wonder if these Exar ones are as nice as the Neo CD originals.

How did Exar's PS2 Neo Controllers compare to the originals?

D-pad looks strange, but I've never used one.
Better than Saturn controller d-pad?
it is a mini joystick really, it 'clicks', and has a great arcade feeling.

How is this the greatest d-pad ever? It looks useless for non-fighting games. It looks like it rotate 360 degrees.
It's not at if it were magically analog. It still only registers eight directions like any other d-pad.

It's funny that all of these SNK controllers are being made for the PS3, but SNK's support for the system has been almost non existant besides KOF XII.

Well, PS3 accepts unlicensed HID controllers, so that probably has a lot to do with it.
Instead of paying a licensing fee, Exar can manufacture PC controllers and sell it with the added value of it working on PSTriple.

Exar's Neo Geo Stick 2 USB that I posted earlier for example works on PS3, but is not officially licensed by Sony Computer Entertainment.

I've only used the PS2 one and not the original CD pad. It was excellent to say the least... and then i sold it out of desperation for cash.

I know, but it's just funny that SNK is doing this despite the fact that there's next to no SNK games on the system.

It's not really SNK though. Exar (the actual maker) is doing this under SNK's license, but otherwise, SNK really doesn't have that much involvement in this.

Love this stick - loved the NGPC stick, and sprung at the chance to get this when the pad was released for the PS2. I usually get these in pairs, but I think I'll just get the one.

And by "stick", I mean clicky-stick!

Had one of these preordered for a few weeks. Rwally, really curious how it stacks up. The Exar manufacture scares me a bit, though

Does anyone know who made the PS2 Neo pad? The build quality on that is fantastic. I wonder how this one will compare.

Probably exar since they made the PS2 Neo Sticks. If so, good ti hear your experience is positive. I never owned a Neo CD so O've never tried this pad. The little time I owned a NGPC I don't recall being overly impressed with the d-pad.

I have a bunch of iterations of this controller.

I have the PS2 one and that one held up really well compared to the Neo Geo CD ones. It's good stuff.

Let's hope the PS3 ones are the same :)

Yeah same here! I got it bundled with KOF 94 a few years ago and it was an excellent controller.

I'm gonna beg my friend who's still in Japan to bring one of these home for me, haha. :lol

Fuck, I'll never be able to buy it then...I don't understand how these services work.
It's just like that Megadrive tote that you have, dementia...I have scoured the Internet for it, and can't get it at all. :(
I'm going to pick one up via eBay like my USB Saturn pads.

well curse you all, looking at these pads on Play Asia i eventually ended up on buying a 300$ PS3 HD screen attachement instead ;D
