CD Projekt showing off “brand-new project” at E3 next month

CD Projekt RED has said it is to announced a new project at E3 this year.

According to email invites sent out, a presentation will be given which will last around 30-45 minutes and will provide ” key facts and a live gameplay demo.”

The firm has confirmed to Eurogamer that it is not The Witcher 2 for consoles, nor is it an expansion pack for the game either.

Update:

Perhaps it is the console port.

Hmmm, it better come to PC at least. Seems like they have wanted to enter the console space so this may be a good time to announce those intentions.

Hopefully they announce some more Witcher stuff also, be interesting to see what they announce.

CD Projekt was at the 3DS event. CD Projekt will announce a new game at E3...

Interesting.

Edit: Although I can't see a 30-45 minutes live presentation of a 3DS game, haha. Hype anyway!

So... The Witcher 3?

I can't see them (it's a studio of like 100 developers I think), working on a second title outside The Witcher IP.
edit: "Brand-new project." Hmmm....

If it's a 3DS RPG given the same love and care they've given to The Witcher, then it could easily take up 30 minutes.
I can dream, okay?

Dont get my hopes up. Thatd be badass if we get a CDPR quality RPG on a handheld.

It does make sense, they can't just put The Witcher 2 on consoles, it's a story heavy RPG and without the first game it will be super hard for many to follow it or care, so a port will be a waste of time.

I'm excited. The Witcher 2 is the best RPG I've played in over 5 years.

But the combat works well with a controller and the game already recognizes Xbox controllers automatically. They can include an interactive comic ala ME2 PS3 to catch console players up.

Is this the Witcher spinoff games they were hinting at ? They wanted to expand the universe to contain more than just the mainline Witcher games.

Why not a non-witcher IP? Some of us don't particularly enjoy The Witcher as an IP but recognize that CD Projekt are talented developers. I for one can't wait to see what they're working on.

I hope so. Be cool to play a different section of the world.

I thought Witcher 2 was suppose to be setup so people didn't need to play the first game? Was that just not achieved in the end?

I'd be shocked if any major Western PC/console developer is actually devoting significant resources to a handheld title.
Hmm, maybe an iOS title?

For some reason developers seem fine with doubling down on those these days. That's even what's happening with the (remains of the) Kingdoms team after E3.

You dont need to know a ton about the first game to enjoy the second. Character back stories and the like are important but direct story connections are pretty rare. Ive seen a few people already in love with TW2 having never touched TW1..the most recent being Morgan Webb who rated TW2 a 5/5.

Mmmmayyyybe. Still guessing it's an HD console title.

I wonder what the odds of them taking a second stab at Rise of the White Wolf would be....
Ehh, thats probably not going to happen.

My guess is a XBLA/PSN/steam game. I can't see them working on another huge game after another. How do they have the time?

Or it could simply be a trailer for a game 2 years off.
