Bayonetta is insanity made into a game. This fucking game never stops, its set on nth gear, all the time, playing it reminds me of one thing:

This game shames DMC4, shames it bad. I now understand Crapcom's decision to outsource DMC. They couldn't ever possibly live up to this game, they'd rather have someone else get embarrassed. :lol

The ambition on display is ridiculous, that Platinum achieves it being such a small studio is impressive. Set-pieces are CRAZY and varied as hell, I don't understand how Kamiya comes up with this shit. Combat is delicious. The set system is greatly preferred over what has been done in the past in the genre, it's so easy to alter between 4 different weapons. Witch-time makes you feel like a badass, and dodge offset is genius. Stomping people with a giant-ass foot made out of hair never gets old. And I barely have a grasp on the combat mechanics. It even tickles the nostalgic nerves with totally sweet references to classic Sega games like Out Run, After Burner and Space Harrier. I'm a massive Out Run and Space Harrier fan, I was grinning like a fucking retard when their music turned up. Speaking of which, the soundtrack is sex. Story is incomprehensible but the characters are fun and likable.

Sadly, I played the poor man's version of Bayonetta. Not gonna lie, the framerate drops did affect the game more than a few time, especially the visual presentation. I dealt with it though, this game is sweet enough even on the PS3. I'm pretty sure the game is a must-buy for any fan of the action genre, it may even top DMC3 for me.

Oh and the boss fights are the best in the genre.

Buy this game people, especially if you have a 360.

Word.

This is the game that is my #1 for not only 2010, but possibly the generation. So much about this game was perfect for me. I even like the low budget film-strip "cinematics".

A gamer's game if there ever was one. This and Vanquish are just gameplay perfected, but Bayonetta is such a more complete package.

I want to replay this game but I can't accept the fact that I will need to torture myself with the motorcycle and missile portions.

I wish they were patched out of the game by now ..

Might be my favorite game this generation.

It's like RE4 in that I can replay it over and over and for several reasons it's still a totally awesome experience.

OutRun & Space Harrier scenes were awesome. Screw the haters.

Not when it's before the best fight in the game!

I adore it. It was my GOTY for 2010.

I sincerely hope he tries to continue it. Kamiya's never been given the chance to make a proper sequel.

Just finished it on ps3 and I loved every minute of it. I actually went out and bought Vanquish. Starting my 2nd play through next week.

Bought on release, played for about 2 hours, did care much for it and back onto the wall where it's been sitting since. DMC4, Sonic Unleashed and this are the only games I haven't finish in my collection of 30+ games and I don't ever plan to. Have no clue why people love this game.

A++ game.

Only improvement is if the game starred Jeanne instead of Bayonetta :p

That and doing a better job with the PS3 version

Couldn't stand the character designs, honestly to me Bayonetta herself was so terrible it annoyed me, and after the third crotch shot I was pretty much done.

Solidered on and played for like 4 more hours but Bayonetta killed any love for the game I could ever have.

Combat Engine is top notch though, easily one of the bests, though I think I would take the combo of DMC 4's Dante/Nero over it. Easily had better level design though, not that it was hard to do.

I was honestly not impressed with the demo (ps3 mind you), but I've never thought the DMC games were amazing either. Good games, just not amazing.

I do like Ninja Gaiden though.

Bayonetta is only $19.99 on 360 Games on Demand too. There is really no reason for anyone to not own Bayonetta. Great game.

Oh, that too. Nothing like hating what you're looking at 99% of the time. :p

Beat the game in one sitting, which is unheard of for me nowadays. Awesome gameplay, amazing presentation (especially the music). One of the best games of the generation, IMO.

I think one of my favorite things about the game has to be the amount of control you have over the difficulty and challenge at any time. You can basically make the game as easy or hard as you like for any level; The way consumable items, accessories, and the actual easy/normal/hard selections all intersect to give you an amazing amount of control over how challenging you *want* the game to be. It just makes the whole thing incredibly accessible and a real pleasure to try and get better at the game.

It's one of those things that I compare every game to afterwards; "This game would be better if it was more like Bayonetta."

People that hate the over the top wacky hypersexualized to the point of absurdity style of Bayonetta make me sad.
It's not even that. I just thought she was ugly, why would I want to see someone's crotch and body who I don't find attractive over and over again?

Best action game of this gen by far. Integrated itself into what is now the action holy trinity of DMC3:SE, NGB, and Bayo.

You're supposed to laugh. Ha ha ha! Come on, laugh with me now.

Ha ha ha ha!

Bayonetta's one hot witch. Haters can't deal with a sexually charged character, eh.

Did you get the Platinum Ticket yet?

Because as far as bosses go, you haven't seen shit until you do.

Don't know what that is. I've only just beaten the game on normal.

Agreed. It makes me even more sad that people stop playing the game because of it too.

Eh, I guess I'm just defective I guess.

Great combat, can't wait for him to make a new series with a new character.

Don't know what that is. I've only just beaten the game on normal.

Man, the higher difficulties are even better. I'm not usually the kind of person that does it, but I went through each difficulty one after another over a few days. So good.

The combat system with how fluid it is really does shame other competitors, but was held down by terrible level design. Some of it was fantastic and they should have expanded it on. It would have been awesome fighting on a sideways spiral or more fights on water. But it was always chopped up too much to every appreciate any of it. You could tell where they cut corners with the title.

Something about Bayonetta didn't resonate with me the way DMC and NG do. I usually spend countless hours on these games trying to perfect my play style but Bayonetta was a game I beat once, tried to play again and quit halfway through.

The Outrun/Space Harrier segments were a chore to play in my view. Some of the levels in the latter half of the game weren't all that fun to navigate. I also disliked the overabundance of skyscraper sized bosses. Jeanne is really the only exceptional boss in my view but I will say that last fight against her might be the best in the genre.

Great game, but it has a lot of flaws that really stop it from reaching its maximum potential. I would've loved a Bayonetta: Black that ironed out all of its problems.

Same here. It's SUPER rare for me to go for more playthroughs of a game, especially on higher difficulties, but Bayonetta on Normal is just the tip of the iceberg. It only gets better, and better the more time you put into it. I think I've beat it from start to finish 5 times in like 2 months on various difficulties.

I love it but I'm terrible at it.

And that actually says a lot about how good it is because I didn't like Ninja Gaiden, DMC, etc.

The final two battles, the final stage, the epilogue are easily the most epic fucking moments I've ever played in gaming.

Listen to the Greatest Jubilee on youtube from the Bayonetta OST.

IN-FUCKING-CREDIBLE!

I thought it was alright, I didn't like the music, I didn't like the story, I wasn't a fan of the art style. Not to forget I hate the QTE's and vehicle sections.

Had great combat though, that's where most of the praise comes from.

Absolute best control over a character in any game ever. Cancel anything, offset your combos, dodge out of anything, never felt unfair. The fact that I liked the wacky over the top nature was just icing on the cake.

I haven't played the demo, but the game continued to get better and better the further you got. As often as it's on sale, I really recommend looking into it. I was never one for the DMC games, but Bayonetta is fantastic and really fun, despite my inability to press buttons at the right time.

Awesome game. I need to finish my last playthrough I left it on, and work on getting all the extras.
