In GAF-Hop, we try our best to expand our horizons and discover new artists, and try to escape the status-quo of the usual hiphop world. It’s being said that hiphop is dead, and it isn’t. Why did this happen? Probably because of the mainstream popularization of certain “artists” that claim (falsely) to be rappers, or advents/saviors of hiphop. Largely a joke, average people make broad and often incorrect assumptions about what rap/hiphop is and is not. There were key players in this, but let’s try to avoid pointing fingers.

Instead, let’s do our best to support real artists who make true efforts to bring in talent and unique abilities to boost creativity, mostly within the underground.

But before you start posting, reply with your answer to these questions.

Official GAF-Hop 2011+ Initiation:

01. Rank Kanye's albums
02. Pick a coast to rep
03. Pick a side in the Biggie/2Pac discussion
04. Make a comparison between Khalifa and something soft
05. Decide who you think won the Jay-Z/Nas beef.
06. Flocka or Royce?
07. What you think of J. Cole?
08. Who is the best Wu-Tang member? (+optional: Rae vs. Ghost)
09. Can 2pac rap? (Or do Biggie got DAT FLOW?)
10. Rate Lupe on a scale of 1-10 (+ call him a dumbass for Lasers and political views)
11. Lil B? Genius or mentally challenged?
12. Pick an era of Eminem
13. How does Drake write such deep lyrics?
14. Is Nas old and dusted with a horrible ear for production?
15. Joe Budden: Introspective and witty, or annoying emo fetus killing asshole?
Bonus: Answer every one of these questions again once in a while for the remainder of your stay here.

Bad Meets Evil The Sequel is damn great, much better than previous Eminem´s albums. I guess it helps when you got great mc like Royce on it.

I'll add the mixtapes and your beats to the OP when I get off from work later.

Same goes for any GAF member. If you make music, I'll add it too.

As far as the banner goes, there are some better ones on google. Not much though.

new thread? time already? alright.

HiRes, that tape you just linked to in the last thread is fucking amazing. I'm loving his use of glitch/chiptune in his productions. "Rapity Rap" will get played for a while.

*Tyler the Creator is the most overrated rapper in the last year.

*Lasers was mediocre but Lupe still shits on most Rappers out right now

*I like Ghostface and Rae more than any other member of the Wu

* Kampsy is old

* Wacka Flocka/Gucci Mane are both garbage rappers with garbage fans

* Start Your Own Rebellion needs more love from this thread.

*Tupac>Biggie

* Kanye gets worse every album.

* J.Cole is the best new comer in a long time

* I love hip-hop

Hello newcomers to GAF-Hop. You may have missed out on the past few threads but GAF-Hop came to a consensus that My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is the single greatest album of all time. siddx noted the exceptionally clean production, HRD mentioned how Ye's production has surpassed that of Kno's and kamspy mumbled something inaudible like old senile men usually do. And I agree wholeheartedly with these fine opinions from these fine gentlemen.

Then we collectively decided enzo had gone crazy.

Stole my post. At first, I thought the dude was a Cudi knock-off. But I have changed my mind. Novocaine is the song of the week.

Hell yeah. What's your favorite song from it?

Shit that's tough, Songs for Women is up there as is We All Try and Swim Good. But then there's Novacane as well which is pretty good. Hell, the whole album is pretty damn dope.

Cudi? Really? He sounds much more in line with his neo-soul peers like Jesse Boykins.

Based off my first listen of Novocaine. Now, I don't know why I thought that in the first place.

Production is ace but Wayne has no clue what he is doing, this song is better than all the singles he put out for Carter 4 yet it is not even on the album?

S M H
Blame Mack Maine. Weezy didn't even know Dr. Carter was on the Carter III until someone mentioned it in an interview post-release.

The new Wayne is ten times better than that new Nas, something just so unconvincing from Nas' efforts with that. It's also one of the best productions out of Swizz in a while.

Big Sean - Marvin & Chardonnay ft. Kanye West & Roscoe Dash. Possibly the perfect storm of bad things Ye does when he raps in one verse. I like the hook though. I'll definitely be checking out Finally Famous, for the production alone.

Uh...

- My first ever album was Code Red by Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince and I still know the whole album word-for-word to this day

- If you're not putting Timbaland and The Neptunes in your top producers list you're doing it wrong

- I miss the days when Native Tongues were "all that"

- Nicki Minaj is ugly

- Wu-Tang is for the children!
