505 Games’ ‘Zumba Fitness’ makes it 4 consecutive weeks at No1 and this is the 7th No1 for this game since the launch of the Wii version back in week 13 this year.

It is a slow week for new releases with nothing new to report within the Top 40 (we added just 11 games titles to our database this week). But it is a good week for Codemasters’ price-promoted ‘Dirt 3’ (+28%) climbing 5 places to No2, which was its debut position on this chart back in week 21 this year. It is also a good week for Activision Blizzard’s next-gen versions of ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ (+10%) with price promotion and visibility from the film pushing the title up 3 places to No3. Disney’s ‘Lego Pirates of the Caribbean’ drops 2 places to No4 (-9%) and Rockstar/Take 2’s ‘L.A. Noire’ drops 2 places to No5 (-29%). Sega’s ‘Virtua Tennis 4’ (-26%) drops 1 place to No6, rejuvenated these past 2 weeks with a Wimbledon-timed campaign. Activision Blizzard’s ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops’ climbs 10 places to move back in to the Top 10 at No7 (+50%), coinciding closely with the Annihilation Map Pack DLC launch on XBLA in week 26. THQ’s ‘UFC Personal Trainer’ (+27%) climbs from a debut position last week of No22 to No13 this week.

THQ’s ‘UFC Personal Trainer’ (+27%) climbs from a debut position last week of No.22 to No.13 this week.

Uh what? Chart says it was Wii Fit Plus that went from 22 to 13. UFC Personal Trainer is (unfortunately) much higher than that.

I don't get this list, I really don't. Dutch people have really bad taste, confirmed?

UFC personal trainer is pretty popular for a Kinect (timed) exclusive. When do the PS3 and Wii versions come out in PAL territories?

Am I the only one surprised by how well InFamous 2 has been holding out? Didn't think it would remain in the top 10 for all this time. I absolutely enjoyed it, myself, so it's definitely warranted.

Top 10 might not be selling many copies.

Good? Bad?

I'm impressed to see it still in the top 20 after 3 weeks.
I think the Ocarina performance has been really impressive considering the 3DS install base. The UK marketing has helped; the first time that Nintendo have got 3DS marketing right.

Will have had a nice bump due to being £19.99 in game now too.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Is Finland the only country who accounts for WoW/PSN/XBL cards, or is the sales for actual games that low?

Inazuma Eleven is selling incredibly well here in Italy!
Stores have a lot of copies of the game, it seems Nintendo is pushing it with ads towards young people.

Did it ever officially get released in the UK or was it a mainland Europe-only release?

UK games market tumbles to new low

Another month, another bleak story about the state of the UK games retail market.

This time, £78.4m was spent on boxed games last month. That’s a six per cent drop on the £83.5m generated during June 2010.In terms of the amount of video games sold, the number isn’t quite so bad. 3,521,909 games were shifted last month, a slight dip of 1.3 per cent year-on-year.

Unfortunately July’s not shaping up to be much better. £11.3m was spent on video games last week. That is the lowest figure since the summer of 2006 (where the market value was £11.2m). That number is likely to fall further in the coming weeks.

But it hasn’t been bad news for everyone. June actually marked the most successful full month so far for 3DS in terms of market share and software sales (outside of the launch period), thanks in no small part to Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D.

And 505 Games had the No.1 game last month, 2011’s most regular chart-topper: Zumba Fitness. The company was actually the fourth most successful publisher (in terms of value of software sold) last month, with Take-Two, EA and Nintendo ahead of it.

In fact, Take-Two had another storming month and was the only firm to have two games in the Top Ten (L.A. Noire and Duke Nukem Forever).

The June Top Ten
1. Zumba Fitness 505 Games
2. L.A. Noire Rockstar Games
3. Duke Nukem Forever Take-Two
4. LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Disney
5. Dirt 3 Codemasters
6. Brink Bethesda
7. FIFA 11 EA
8. Infamous 2 Sony
9. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D Nintendo
10. Call of Duty: Black Ops Activision

Uhmm... i still have to catch an ad besides the ones near launch I remember on Disney's XD channel.
Nontheless, it's good the game is doing well over here.. Too bad we'll almost surely never get Inazuma 2 and 3.

505 Games’ ‘Zumba Fitness’ (-24%) celebrates 5 consecutive weeks at No1, giving it a total of 8 weeks at the top since the launch of the hugely successful Wii version.

‘Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 2’ fails to cast its spell on the charts, debuting at No7. It’s by far the lowest ever sales in a launch week for a Harry Potter game, despite charting higher than ‘Part 1’ which came in at No20 in November 2010.

It’s a happier story for Activision Blizzard’s film tie-in ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ (Xbox 360/PS3) which climbs one place to No2 with only a 6% drop in sales.

Codemasters fall one place to No3 with ‘Dirt 3’ (-25%) while continued price promotion on ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops’ (+35%) pushes it up from No7 to No4.

There are now 2 Lego games in the Top 10 as Disney’s ‘Lego Pirates of the Caribbean’ (-10%) falls one place to No5, followed by ‘Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars’ (+33%) from LucasArts, back in the Top 10, climbing from No12 to No6.

‘EA Sports Active 2’ (+338%) also re-acquaints itself with the Top 10 this week thanks to a significant price promotion, propelling it back into the chart at No8.

The Top 10 is rounded off by former No1 ‘Brink’ (-9%) down one place to No9 and ‘Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood’ (+12%), up from No15 to No10.

^^Zumba still holds top spot and Zelda 3DS out of the top 20 (can't be encouraging for Nintendo UK. Those TV adverts for the game are everywhere).

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Zelda out of top20?
What.
I see it has even risen.

I didn't mean just TV ads, but in stores and in magazines (e.g. Topolino, Nintendo Rivista Ufficiale of course and so on).
Anyway, it seems we will get the second one in January (just insider information).

Another thing about Inazuma Eleven: in Italy it should have sold around 25,000 units, so not bad at all.

Seeing that many games rised in this week's chart, i think that it is a really slow week. Perhaps the slowest week so far in 2011?

Could be. Not many games have been released means less incentive to go to shops.

More like slowest week since 2006 (see post 35).

True. And especially seeing reapperances of Red Dead Redemption and Xbox Live Hits Collection (unless these games had some big pricedrops and/or extra promotion recently) :)

Ah, i missed that post. Sounds like a pretty slow week then, indeed :)

Where are these information from? Your personal connections or something on the internet?

In an Italian forum there's a guy which provides some bits sometimes (without anything precise anyway) about release dates and sales data in Italy; it's an insider, Mpl90 knows better than me who is exactly, anyway his information are always true.

Good week for Nintendo, most of their games have either stayed where they were last week or rised. I think part of Zumba fitness and Wii Sports drop is due to EA Active Sports promotions. However, overall their systems are dying, they have like 230 million systems on the market, but in terms of the software share, they are arguably behind the 100 million HD systems.

Well, you must take in account the difference between home and handheld, which is particularly stressed in the West, and the fact that Wii has got anything special in this 2011.
