BioShock Infinite is like playing some homeless guy's vivid imagination
Here are the ones that have stuck with me well after listening to the songs:
Sparklehorse, "Sea of Teeth"
The entire song is pretty much one of the most beautiful I've heard, but the opening line is particularly memorable for me:
"Can you feel the wind of Venus on your skin?"
The imagery is so powerful.
The National, "Slow Show"
The line:
"You know I dreamed about you
for twenty-nine years before I saw you"
The delivery and simplicity of it is what gets me. It's so poignant and sad and perfect.
The Antlers, "Thirteen"
If you ever want to cry your eyes out, listen to the Antlers' Hospice. I have listened to many sad and depressing albums, but this one gets me every single time. It is terribly haunting. But the one line in "Thirteen" that really kills me is:
"Can't you stop this all from happening?"
Imaging a loved one suffering in some way, begging you for help, and knowing full well that you can't do anything for them. Soul-shattering, but powerfully moving.
Nas, "One Time 4 Your Mind"
"Right, right, what up n****z, how ya'll, it's Nasty the Villain
I'm still writin' rhymes but besides that I'm chillin'"
My favorite verse in any rap song. Very simple and straightforward. But the delivery is absolutely perfect. Unlike the rest of the examples I posted, this one makes me feel really warm and happy.
I'd love for you all to check out the songs I posted as well as post your own examples (hopefully sticking to a format similar to the one I used for convenience's sake).
