Good scores all around. Although I expected SML3D to receive a higher score, considering the last 3D Mario platformers got a 10 score.

But an 8 is still good. NSMB DS also got an 8, and NSMBwii got a 7 even..

When you put it in that perspective, it must be something quite special indeed.

Ive never seen an Edge issue with this many high scores. They had a un of three 10/10s in 2007 (Halo 3, Orange Box, Mario Galaxy), but I dont ever recall a single issue like this one.

I kind of hope they give a game (any game) a 2/10 or 3/10 or something terrible soon. Last time they gave a review that low was way back with Driver 3 or Boiling Point. Low, highly critical reviews make for excellent reading.

Awesome score for Dark Souls was expecting less from edge tbh
also good score for Dance Central 2, the game deserves alot more hype
considering how improved it is on the first which was the best Kinect game until this release.

agreed. i like it better when they give high-profile games i don't care about low scores to feed my perception that they are suitably harsh or "fair" depending on your perspective, then give games i do care about insanely high scores.

this seems to be the sweet spot: score lower, edge. just not on games i am interested in.
