much love to my GAF-hop brother CptYamato for the heads-up; had to share with all my fellow Nujabes (R.I.P.) fans. source

Quite unexpectedly Hydeout announced that ‘Spiritual State’ is set for a release on December 3rd this year. It’s the first official Nujabes release since he passed away in 2010, and will be the final full-length album of material by the Japanese genius.

GAF-Hop welcomes all Nujabes fans! if nothing else, be sure to check out the Instrumental Hip-hop thread. I was really thinking of doing a Jazz-hop/instrumentals OT at some point, because i've noticed since Seba's passing, i'm not the only one left with a void...on that note, if you haven't already, be sure to check out Michita and Kenichiro Nishihara if you haven't! you won't be disappointed. oh, and Uyama Hiroto of course.

Very excited, but I'll probably be very ;_; when I listen to this, for obvious reasons.

while we're on stuff we already said: 3 tracks from Uyama Hiroto makes me really happy. Son of the Sun is about my favorite of the Hydeout crew's various offerings, so good.

This is material put together that he never released?

He had been assembling the album, iirc. Most, if not all of it, is probably the stuff from that effort.

Okay thanks. At first I thought this was another tribute album. Is there a way of purchasing this in the US?

In the US? Probably not. Get that wallet ready to import, baby.

I'm not sure if I'm more happy or sad about this.
i know what you mean, especially with all the uyama hiroto stuff. i mean, you heard 1 of his songs, you've heard them all. this may not bode well

Which albums should I listen to from him?

Everything! He only has two full releases outside of this new one, "Metaphorical Music," and "Modal Soul," Those are must listens. After that comes the Hydeout collections, and his stuff on "Impressions," one of the Samurai Champloo OST releases.

oh, come on. Ribbon in the Sea, 81st summer, Waltz for life, Stratus - these are not samey tracks.

Gunna be honest. The only Nujabes stuff I've liked is his Samurai Champloo stuff.
Maybe I oughta give his disco a relisten...
Or I could just zone out to Fat Jon.
