Can't we just give the award to Breaking Bad or My Little Pony?
Clearly one of those is going to win.

Oh wait... PREMIERED in 2011? Game of Thrones wins then.

I loved Breaking Bad and Homeland, but Game of Thrones was an event. It was A Song of Ice and Fire as a fucking TV show! It doesn't get much better than that.

*edit*

1. Game of Thrones
2. Breaking Bad
3. Homeland
4. Louie

9. Downton Abbey
10. The Good Wife

Sons of Anarchy is completely off the list after the finale, Homeland is down a notch from where I thought it would be. Fringe is only still on because of its unbelievable third season in the spring. Parks is having a really bad season, comparatively.

Though I imagine that Game of Thrones and Community will clean up.

I don't remember everything I've watched, so I'll put down shows I enjoyed a lot that I regularly watch.

1. Homeland - Riveting stuff
2. Nikita - Underappreciated gem
3. Person of Interest - My favourite new show
4. Parks & Recreation - The best comedy on television right now
5. Community - The second best comedy on television right now
6. Suits - One of my favourite new shows, witty lawyer show
7. Justified - Fantastic western
8. Leverage - The first of two great con shows
9. White Collar - The second of two great con shows
10. 2 Broke Girls - I am in love with Beth Behrs and want to spend three days making sweet, sweet love to her. Otherwise, it wouldn't be on the list.

I have a lot of other shows, these are all that came to mind, but I may put in other shows and take some out dependant on my memory.

Honourable mentions: Hawaii Five-0, Ringer, Bored to Death, Modern Family, DOCTOR WHO, uh...

Breaking Bad/Game of Thrones is not on my list because I haven't watch the most recent seasons yet.

1. Burn Notice
2. Psych
3. Regular Show
4. White Collar
5. Bored to Death
6. Parks and Recreation
7. Community
8. Adventure Time
9. American Pickers
10. In Plain Sight

Since cartoons count I changed my list a bit.

Hmmm. It first aired in 2010 on DirecTV, but aired on NBC in 2011. I'm gonna say no.

okay then:

1. Boardwalk Empire
2. Breaking Bad
3. Louie
4. Game of Thrones
5. Curb your Enthusiasm
6. Nikita
7. Borgias
8. Parks and Recreation
9. Beavis and Butthead
10. The Walking Dead

still need to see latest seasons of Always Sunny and Archer.

1. Louie - I enjoyed many shows this year, but I really want to see this one get more recognition. This season was a testament to the freedom he has been given. This is a show about a character that's funny most of the time, but doesn't tie itself to the comedy. I wish I didn't sound like an asshole by being so cliche and vague.

I may flesh out the rest of my list later. I probably won't.

My list is below.

1. Breaking Bad
2. Louie
3. Curb Your Enthusiasm
4. Community
5. Game of Thrones
6. Wilfred
7. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
8. The Walking Dead
9. Lights Out
10. The Office

Wait, so are we voting on shows that premiered in 2011 or that had a season premiere in 2011?

Any TV series, season, or miniseries that premiered in 2011 is eligible.

Brand new series.

New seasons.

Miniseries.

All are eligible as long as they PREMIERED in this calendar year.

I think you are going to be the only person here who put Downton Abbey down on a list. I ordered the Blu-ray for my Mom, so I hope she likes it.

1) Steins' Gate-Easily the best animated show Japan has released in the last few years. Brought some hope back for the medium.

2) Homeland-I loved 24 in its early years, and I'm glad to see the former producers of 24 regain their talents and produced one of my new favorite shows.

3) Breaking Bad-Breaking Bad is Breaking Bad. Not sure what to say that haven't been said about this glorious show already.

4) Game of Thrones-I loved the novel, so I had high expectations for the show. While the expectations weren't matched, it was still a fantastic show. I'm super excited to see how HBO handles "A Clash With Kings."

5) American Horror Story-Twin Peaks on ecstasy. This show is completely insane, and I love it because of its craziness.

Dexter and Walking Dead are the two other shows I've been watching, but they are too shitty to even reach my list.

1. Game of Thrones
2. Louie
3. Breaking Bad
4. Adventure Time

So many people not reading the OP...le sigh.

That being said, I can't think of many shows that premiered in 2011 that I watch...I'll have to see if I can find a list.

Any TV series, season, or miniseries that premiered in 2011 is eligible.

Oh...well fuck, that's a confusing way to word it. Why not just say "Any TV Show with a new season starting in 2011." "Season" would automatically encompass any new series.

Hmmm. It first aired in 2010 on DirecTV, but aired on NBC in 2011. I'm gonna say no.

But if we had this thread last year, people would be voting for FNL based on half of its final season. Six of its 13 episodes were aired in 2011. I think it should be eligible. :)

1. Game of Thrones
2. Boardwalk Empire
3. Eastbound and Down
4. Parks and Recreation
5. Curb Your Enthusiasm

8. The Walking Dead

I can't really think of anything else. True Blood was a huge disappointment and Mad Men didn't air. :/

1. Frozen Planet
2. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
3. Breaking Bad

Really, I love them all equally, so I ordered them in terms of how badly the shows need votes.

Oh, and

4. Misfits
