Kid Icarus:

Kid Icarus is back, then, and it turns out we did miss him. With Uprising, those internet petitioners finally have something they can be proud of.

The control scheme initially seems lopsided, but works wonderfully for the flying sections, while any slight clumsiness on foot is countered by a responsive dodge.

A worryingly compulsive weapon-fusing system thrown in, adding a chunk of the Pokemon gene to a game that already feels like a smart splicing of Star Fox and Zelda.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much

The SSX score has been around for a while now. Complaints about the mix between realism and the more 'cartoony' elements of previous games not quite gelling, and the game being too hard.

War Peaceman

You're a big guy.
Pretty good all round, I'd say. Super Stardust and Lumines are excellent games, well-deserving of their scores (though Lumines is too expensive, I'd say). I'd be very excited to see what they say about Kid Icarus - I've really turned around on that game and cannot wait. This validates that somewhat.

Woah @ SSX

It's the lowest score the game got. The metacritic is sitting at 83, last I checked.

I understand most of the reviewer's complaints, but I wholeheartedly disagree. I really enjoy most of the things that he didn't find fun with SSX.

Anything mentioned about the control scheme for the southpaws among us? I'm concerned it's not going to be playable at all left handed.

Nope. It's only a half-page review, so they kept the control talk brief.

Yeah, it's fine. Better than 1 (by a long shot) and 2. There is more verticality to the areas, more options for flanking, enemy AI is better at flushing you out of cover (especially on Insanity) and roll and better melee are very welcome. I prefer it to many dedicated shooters really.

Oh ! About Kid Icarus for Lefties... you can also use A,B,X,Y to move Pit, while you holding the stylus with left hand. I saw this on the french Kid Icarus official site.

Wow, my hype for Kid Icarus went from 0 to over 9000 in a few seconds. 3DLand was my favourite handheld Mario ever and one of my favourite games last year and it got an 8 as well. I'll try not to spoil myself. Just have seen the 2010 trailer and Sakurai's MP demo. :D

Very nice Kid Icarus score, not that I was worried, the game has been looking awesome for quite some time now.

It does look a bit crazy, but Sakurai is the lord of multiplayer, so I'm sure it will be great fun. Also: it has the same sound like in Brawl, whenever you die.

I wonder whether they really liked the online multiplayer or not for Kid Icarus.

That shit looks crazy.

As with most reviews, they describe the multiplayer suite rather than pass judgment on it.

I suppose they do say that multiplayer is a good way to mess around with different weapons, though.

I've already decided that Syndicate is going to be a 'must purchase' title for me......

...., in about six months from now when it's sitting in a bargain bin. :(
